I came face to face with this Caterpillar while looking for insects today.

This baby with the fuzzy face is the tiniest of the deer visiting us this year. She is so curious; always looking in the windows for our cats. The other day, she had a confrontation with a stick frozen in the ice. I think she thought it was a snake.

during the months of jan – may, the bottom of the mountains and the sea of sands are clearly exposed to vision. the humidity is high and vegetation at savanna is green. the clouds are painting the sky…

this image was taken in march last year.

still cant decide which one i like most… clouds above? or clouds at the bottom? ;-)

White-faced Ibis are not a common bird in central Alberta, but over the past few years we are seeing more of them in these parts.

A couple of American White Pelicans dwarf a Reddish Egret and almost seem amused at the little guy. Or perhaps they're thinking that the egret looks like a nice snack...

When viewing a Reddish Egret without other birds around, they look like a fairly large bird. So this gives a nice sense of just how huge the American White Pelicans are.

This encounter occurred along the gulf coast of Texas.

The Golden-faced Tyrannulet is the most widely distributed of the genus Zimmerius in the Andes, from northwest Venezuela to northern Peru. They all inhabit humid forest, borders, and tall second growth, and are usually seen in the tops of trees, where they regularly perch in the open. Its size is about 4.3 inches (11 cm)
