The Z6 doing street photography, AF-C in low light with an adapted lens on the FTZ, can't remember which of the AF-area modes I used, either wide-area or dynamic-area. I processed the NEF using Affinity Photo which doesn't officially support the Z6 as it displays a really flat image (in terms of colour)...I've never seen Nikon NEFs look like that. I know this isn't the nicest in terms of colour and brightness, that's my dodgy post-processing and not the camera! The NEFs look very different in a demo version of Iridient Developer which does support the Z6 NEFs. However, this has been processed to look close to what I remember in terms of the light levels. So that gives an idea of what the AF system had to cope with - low light, moving subject and an operator only just getting use to the camera. See next photo for how the Z6's SOOC JPEGs look, which is much better!

Catching up on a lot of unposted images...
Recently, I have been playing with remote bird photography. The set-up is pretty straight forward:
1) set-up a camera and telephoto lens on a tripod.
2) aim the camera/lens/tripod at a spot where birds are likely to visit. (I hedge my bet and put out some bird seed on a corner of my patio wall)
3) go back inside the house. (The birds don't like it when I'm outside near the seed.)
4) turn on the iPad and launch the SnapBridge app.
5) wait for a bird to come into my field of view on the iPad.
6) use SnapBridge to focus, adjust exposure and capture the image.
That's really about it. SnapBridge allows me to see a live view from the camera via my iPad... wirelessly. So it is almost like cheating.
Almost.

Stacy semi-relaxing between talking points at the workshop. This was grabbed as a NEF file and then in post, I applied the new 'Sepia' effect to it.

Had to move around a bit to get the entire bridge in the frame while keeping enough of the background trees in view. I wanted to do a horizon fix, but had cropped it in-camera a bit too tight.
No Corrections.

Seriously. 25,600 ISO.
Normally, I wouldn't bother to post an image from a pre-production unit at or near the reported highest ISO. But...
I was at the San Diego Zoo again yesterday. I had the Z7 set-up to use Auto ISO to capture a shutter speed of 1/2,000th. When this little guy came out, all thoughts of camera settings were forgotten... he was fast moving and super hyper. As I was leaving the zoo, it was then that I bothered checking the ISO.
I thought: Crap. Well, it was fun anyway.
Then when I got home I looked and realized that while there is some noise, this looks really good!
