Frost
We had the heaviest frost we have had for a long time this morning. The temperature dropped to -1.3°C (29.6°F). A glorious sunny day has ensued although it is not particularly warm.

Everyone loves to take shots of frosted leaves, and I'm the same, I can't resist. This was a particularly light frost, and allowed the wonderful muted autumn colours of hazel and oak to show through.

A scene from last week's foray into winter two days after we had record high temperatures. A combination of hoar frost and snow adorn limber pine needles. Thankfully the majority of the aspen leaves appear to have survived the hard frost (2 days below freezing) and we are starting to see some color.

Assessing frost and freeze damage
On my way home (after a highly recommended haircut due to Covid limitations) I encountered this spectacular phenomenon; frost damage protection by sprinkling water over the fresh young new buds.
