Another shot from Sunday morning after the sun came out over the frost.

A heavy frost in my garden this morning. Winter has defintely arrived!

A steel barbed wire fence covered in tiny ice frost crystals during winter.

We had our first frost of the season yesterday morning. Of course, I had to get out and play in it (with my camera). -)

A bleak morning view of the city on the first day of February.

Thank you for visiting my photostream, for any faves, and especially for comments......

Seen at Sarah and Mike's just as we were getting ready to go for a morning hike with our dogs.

I really appreciate any Views, Faves and Comments and I will try to visit your sites in due course. Thank you so much.

I have no longing for the cold season, and I might even say that I dread it a little. But it offers good opportunities to take more photos, of course. Here's a picture from January 2021. I just found it on my hard drive and can't remember how I edited it anymore, but I like it :-)

A fog and frost fills the farm and countryside... like brown cows give brown milk this frosty dairy cow must be where frosty shakes come from! : )

It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it. ~John Burroughs, "Winter Sunshine"

Had to stop the car to capture this lonely tree while exploring the wide open spaces near Leamington, Ontario

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU, ALL MY FLICKR FRIENDS!

Der Reif

Der Reif ist ein geschickter Mann:

O seht doch, was er alles kann!

Er haucht nur in den Wald hinein,

Wie ist verzuckert schön und fein

Ein jeder Zweig und Busch und Strauch

Von seinem Hauch!

Wie schnell es ihm von Händen geht!

Kein Zuckerbäcker das versteht.

Und alles fein und silberrein,

Wie glänzt es doch im Sonnenschein!

Wär' alles doch nur Zucker auch

Von seinem Hauch!

Doch nein, wir sind schon sehr erfreut,

Dass uns der Reif so Schönes beut.

O Winter, deinen Reif auch gib,

Uns ist auch Augenweide lieb,

Und ohne Duft und Frühlingshauch

Freu'n wir uns auch.
