Forgot to post this part of the Pinakothek der Moderne earlier. Their collection of modern art and sculpture was quite impressive. Can't remember who sculpted this head though, the one in the background may be a Henry Moore...
Legend has it that Pirene was the most beautiful daughter of the god Tubal, then owner of these lands. She had been named caretaker of the waters and she lived among the immensity of the forests, where she walked and enjoyed nature.
When Hercules was on his way to perform one of her twelve labors, she passed through one of the forests. At the meeting, the two fell in love and loved each other in the warm night. However, Hercules soon forgot his promises of love and decided to continue on his way, abandoning Pirene.
Rumors of the beauty of Tubal's daughter had also reached Gerion, a three-headed monster who lived in Erytheia. Gerion went to meet Pirene and tried to take her, but when she refused, he decided to burn the forest that burned in the flames.
The news reached Hercules, who retraced his steps to help Pirene. But when he arrived it was too late. He only found a lifeless body. Pirene had died in the fire.
Destroyed and sorry for her loss, Hercules decided to bury her among some enormous and beautiful stones, giving rise to the mountain range that would bear her name, the Pyrenees.
Almost forgot about this photo from Calgary, AB. An unfinished apartment project that has been sitting for years while Alberta continues to feel the pressure of its financial downturn. These are elevator shafts and made an interesting image against the blue sky. Rather like building blocks or life size lego.
It has poured in Brisbane this afternoon and around 3.30pm we had an influx of drowned rats, absolutely soaked Galahs looking for hot soup or hot seeds anyway. A few came in perfectly dry (where were they hiding out?) but most like this one were pretty squishy! The water really accentuates the pink feathers. We are always honoured to have them visit us.
Forgot my wide angle lens at home yesterday and I had to do a photostack of this landscape, I had my D850 with me witch has alot of Mpx (45-46 if I remember ) and the problem was that this is made of multiple images in total It has a resolution of 21523x9725 witch is 209 mpx in total my potato pc sufferd the most out of this. Of course this is just a " illustration " of the original, not even the colors look as the original and thanks to instr beautiful crop policies it doesn't even show the full pic ♂️.... Sooo the lesson is always double check your bag to be sure you didn't forget anything. Thanks for the visit and have a nice day!

Been waiting for this light to appear again for almost 3 years: "spotlight" of the sun hitting the foreground and the sky of rain-heavy clouds in the background. This late Sunday afternoon all happened again, the same and different atmosphere. When I took the photo below I was in a haste, jumped out of the car in a hurry and then back again but today I could relax and walk among the old houses for a long while...
Forgot to post this at the time.
Many thanks to all who comment, fave or just enjoy looking, it really is very much appreciated!

as I forgot my tripod at home had to buy a new one in Reykjavik, it was still raining in the morning, when I left Reykjavik at noon th sky cleared up, cycling up to Mossfellbaer wasn't so easy as there where no signs on the bicycle paths and the main road was very busy and dangerous to cycle on with a 70kg ( total weight lugguga and bicycle)heavy loaded bicycle, but finally managed to find the road up to Þingvellir, which was much better to cycle, but after a long way up it started to rain again, didn't feel for camping in this heavy rain so found a room just a little before Þingvellir where I could dry up and have a selfmade meal, and even maintain my bicycle after the heavy rain
Flickr is going to limit the size of photos now to free accounts. FFS
I actually forgot his name. Sad to think I did that. I usually write their name in small letters on the tag.
Oh Well.

Tarabuso "Botaurus stellaris"
Thursday, January 12, I wanted to photograph the Kingfisher in action ... I went to Valley of Argenta where I know there's a cabin in a large swamp, great for this, where even a branch as roost up front. It was very cold and the water was ice cold, I settled the camera equipment, I had a nikon d4 and a nikon d800 a sigma 500 mm 1:4.5 300 mm 1:4, nikon, tamron 70-200 mm 1:2.8 a.. I anchored the d4 with on the 300 mm and a remote control, and held onto rocker head gimbal the nikon d800 with the 500 mm ... After nearly an hour and came out of the reeds this unexpected: Bittern "Botaurus stellaris" and was getting closer though with a certain slowness. I continued to photograph him with all the machines and the lenses that I had often vertically because it was too close. I was so excited about this fight, you stood there in front of me for almost four hours came and went. I even forgot the kingfishers that was passed into the background ...
Almost forgot that I had a fence foto for Friday.
I've been meaning to stop at this location for years, but was always in too much of a rush to get somewhere or other. This day, I made a special trip just to get this shot (along with a few others). You can't tell from the photos, but this runs along a very busy roadway in Baton Rouge. It's only a two lane road, but it took me many minutes of waiting for a hole in traffic to get across it.
Happy Fence Friday!!
I forgot these sketches from early 2021. - I think I was going to add colour - but looking back the BW is fine - just as they were sketched on the harbour. View from Drummoyne, Cockatoo Island in the background. Sketched on our way to meet some friends for dinner.
I forgot there was a bridge signal bridge here at the east end of Peosta siding. An empty IEI coal train has 3 geeps as they pull into the siding at Peosta. Peosta is located 13 miles west of Dubuque.
Scanned print from November 1992.
After shooting some photos near the river at night with long exposure, I forgot to change settings of exposure and stopped to make a photo of some building. This is a result of walking down the street while shooting for 20 seconds :)
