The beautifully idyllic twin cascade of Colwith Force in the Lake District. There was just enough water in to show the power of the falls without having too much spray. I also had the pleasure of watching two Grey Wagtails travelling up and down the beck with food to feed their chicks which were in a nest located just above the waterfall.

Depressingly, my DJI Mavic mini is terrible in low light. No problem though. just crank up the grain and make it look like a Monet painting.

Experiment using three images overlaid to accentuate the water flow.

What started out as a day of architectural photography ended up being a day of avoiding the mist and fog that shrouded Manchester and the Pennines. We ended up on the Yorkshire Dales near the village of Settle, dressed completely in the wrong clothing and footwear for clambering down slippery hillsides to get to waterfalls.

Of all the falls I've been to in England, Scotland and New York State, this has to be my favorite of them all so far.

Pas de post-traitement.

A tall waterfall, though unfortunately with little flow due to the dry weather, passed on the climb up Whernside.

West Burton, North Yorkshire

A beautiful waterfall situated on the river Tees in the heart of the Durham Dales.

Thornton Force falls over 14 metres, where the water has cut through the Limestone and dropped onto the sandstone rocks below. The heavy rainfall in 1816 meant that the river was high and the water would of been gushing over the rocks into the pool below.

Aira Force Waterfall, Ullswater, Lake District, Cumbria

The beautiful Cotter force waterfall in Yorkshire.

Hardraw Force is the longest single drop waterfall in England at 100ft (30m), not counting subterranean waterfalls. Seen during a spell of dry weather, it's a lot more impressive after heavy rain.

Aira force waterfall in early autumn.

An awkward climb down for this perspective!!!

Looking far less impressive from above, the Bow Lee beck spills over the top of Summerhill Force

"Force" is local dialect for "falls", (derived from the Norse "Foss") and does not reflect the power of the river. These are the lower major falls on the river Tees, 2 miles below High Force.
