For these three ladies at Poznan Staroleka tram terminus it's a simple choice of fruit and veg. For the transport enthusiast it's a far harder one between this location and the railway station 50 yards to the right.

For quite a while, Winnie the Pooh used to meet guests in the Magic Kingdom with a honey pot on his head. This was sort of amusing, but somehow his face had a bit of a demonic look to it, so I can understand why he might've wanted to update his appearance over the years.

This photo is from my first visit to Disney World in February, 1979, back when characters would just stand out on the street to meet guests (long before dedicated queues were required).

This photograph is from the Dublin City Council Photographic Collection. This unique collection is an educational resource and provides a basis for original research on the history of Dublin in the second half of the twentieth century.

As an actor, Maggie has tread the boards in improvised, devised, and scripted plays at The Rendezvous, Theatre Off Jackson, and The Triple Door to name a few. She is proud to have been part of the Gregory Award-winning ensemble of Deers at Annex Theatre. Her skills as a clown, sketch, and physical comedian have enabled her to create memorable characters and ambient performances, including the beloved Pizza Mermaid, who brings saucy joy to children and adults alike. Her one-woman show, 3 Raccoons in a G-String, was made on a dare.

In addition to acting, Maggie is also a renowned burlesque, cabaret artist, and go go dancer who was famously kicked off a Jet Blue flight because of her shorts. She has performed at numerous festivals throughout the US and Canada, and holds the title of “Dirty, Dirty Stripper” from the Seattle Burlesque Games, where she also was crowned co-Mayor of Seattle Burlesque in 2017.

Unafraid of audience interaction, Maggie’s sex work experience colors her approach to performance art, where she specializes in rituals and fetish performance. She has written extensively about her experiences as a sex worker for Tits & Sass, and is a script consultant for intimacy and sensitivity. Maggie has produced cabaret shows, fundraisers, and curated entertainment for parties and events. She is the co-founder of The Last Chance Dancers, an all nude punk rock revue set to vinyl records in Brooklyn.

Before the pandemic she was bi-coastal but now she is pretty much New York's problem.

More about these images:

This digital album contains images from my 2022-23 "Life is Drag" residency at The Cell in Chelsea, NYC. It includes video stills pulled from the 100+ video portraits created (performances documented), behind the scenes production shots taken during my 6 months at The Cell, and documentation of the two panels I produced and spoke with as a part of this residency -- at Symphony Space (in conjunction with the Municipal Art Society of New York), and at The Cell (in conjunction with Franklin Furnace and CADAF). More info below:

I create bodies of work that explore gender, artifice, and spectacle. Utilizing directorial, curatorial, and anthropological processes, I showcase exuberantly irrepressible personalities who revel in challenging clichés and taboos to rethink and reimagine the gender construct. A sampling of subjects include Girls Girls Girls - the world's first and only all-female Mötley Crüe tribute band, and Tazzie Colomb - the world's longest competing professional female bodybuilder and powerlifter. Since 2019, I have been working exclusively on "Life is Drag" - the largest living digital archive of drag in the United States.

Drag is a poetic synthesis of painting, sculpture, sound and performance. It is also an amalgam of self-discovery, transformation, permission, actualization, revolution, utopia, community, catharsis, and ultimately - radical self-expression. Drag is ART - and life IS drag. And "Life is Drag" has become my (Rachel Rampleman) life's work. I am a one-person production team - handling all research, curation, communication, lighting, shooting, editing, interviewing, archive building, residency outreach, and more. With "Life is Drag", I document the most innovative and singular performers - selected from a wide range of locations, backgrounds, cultures, and ages - who are currently exploding onto the national drag scene. This ever-evolving archive includes documentation of performances and interviews, and over the course of the last several years I have created 350+ video portraits, showcasing 200+ LGBTQIA performers - collaborating with them in my studio, as well as during residencies in New York City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and New England (so far).

These documented performances and interviews are added to my online archive at lifeisdrag.com, as well as projected or featured as site-specific multi-channel installations at “brick and mortar” venues ranging from spaces like Wave Pool, a non-profit gallery in my hometown of Cincinnati, to the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh. I have also produced live events and hosted panel discussions in partnership with organizations such as Symphony Space, Franklin Furnace, and The Municipal Art Society of New York -- about the importance of documenting this important but ephemeral art form, as well as about the current drag bans in the United States and New York’s radical resistance to these worsening restrictions.

For the first time I can see what it looked like where my dad worked.

Badjao or Bajau means man of the seas, this tribal group is known as the Sea Gypsies because they move with the wind and the tide on their small houseboats called vintas, they can be found in many coastal settlements and inhabit the waters and shores of the Sulu archipelago.

A legend tells that these boat dwellers came from the shores of Johore in Indonesia, Princess Ayesha of Johore was betrothed to a Sulu Sultan but she really wanted to marry the Sultan from Brunei. One day, a large fleet of war boats escorted the Princess to Sulu, the fleet was intercepted by the man she really loved, the Sultan from Brunei, who kidnapped her and set sail back to Brunei. The escorting fleet could not return without the Princess and kept on sailing the seas, only mooring at uninhabited islands; some of them turned to piracy and roamed the seas to search for fortune and glory. Others only searched for food and became fishermen, the Sulu Sea had an abundance of fish that helped to sustain their livelihood, most of the daily catch was bartered with other tribes that lived along the shores and beaches. The Badjao still live in houseboats, clustered near the coastline of Southern Mindanao. But they also built stilt houses near fertile fishing grounds; these houses are a temporary refuge during times that these boathouses needed repairs. These wanderers of the Southern seas are born on the water, live on their boats and say they will only set foot on land only to die.

For some reason I had a lot of trouble using plastic glue to assemble this model. It seemed to dissolve the plastic without forming any kind of bond. So unusually for a plastic kit, I largely used superglue to assemble it.

For Navaratri’s seventh night, we celebrate Goddess Kalaratri, otherwise known as Kali. She takes a terrifying form, with eyes of fire and skin as dark as night, to purify the world by killing demons and destroying evil in the form of ignorance and egoism in the hearts of man.

She is the personification of the Ultimate, all comes from Her and all returns to Her. Her name means the One who is always giving and She will do everything to save Her children, absorbing all from Her devotees: the good, the bad, and the negative. She always delivers favourable results and Her devotees need not fear Her.

We planned for exciting ‘Valley Isle Excursions’ –the incredible Maui tour to Hana…and Haleakalā. It was a trip surrounding the main island of Maui, starting in the morning and ending in the late afternoon. It was a small group Hawaiian Style tour in a 12 seater van. I may guarantee that your "Hana Day" will be one of the best days of your Maui vacation. The Road to Hana features waterfalls, rainforests, bamboo forests, sweeping ocean views, view rugged coastline and more, despite its 617 hairpin curves and 56 one-lane bridges.

You'll be in the hands of Maui’s best driving guides. Valley Isle Excursions’ Luxury Road to Hana Van Tours are hosted by professional guides who share more than just beautiful scenery and an experienced hand behind the wheel; they are incredibly knowledgeable about all things Hawaiian. When your day is complete, you will have received legends, history, stories, and personal insights to give you a real sense of the Hawaiian culture.

Tour starts early in the morning and hotel pickups are available from all major locations. After all the guests are picked up you will make your first stop of the day at Maui Lani Golf Course in Kahului where you will enjoy a light, Hawaiian-style continental breakfast featuring local jams, jellies, with a lovely view of the West Maui Mountains and the golf course.

Once out on the road, you will pass some of the most stunning scenery imaginable along 52 miles of road with 617 hairpin curves and 56 narrow, one-lane bridges. There are countless waterfalls created by the 56 streams that must be crossed on the road to Hana.

Local knowledge is so important because “the best” waterfalls change depending upon the amount of rainfall in the previous several hours at certain altitudes. Only someone who is intimately familiar with the area can predict which waterfalls will be the best to visit on a particular day. Moreover, your Valley Isle Excursions guide is trained to modify the tour according to the unique preferences of the group they are leading that day, so every day is slightly different.

Foro Bienestar Social y Servicios Públicos: Mesa Desigualdad Social y Servicios Públicos Municipales

The referendum was a popular topic discussed on board the National Assembly for Wales bus in Swansea on 17 March. One visitor, who hadn’t voted in the referendum, was keen to have his say in the election on 5 May and left with an election registration form. One person wanted to know what laws had been made in Wales that affect Wales only. Another wanted to know if a reduction in Members of Parliament would have any effect on the number of Assembly Members. Other issues brought up in Swansea were transport and the health service. One person complained about transport systems in Wales as he had just experienced problems with trains at Swansea station. Another visitor mentioned that one of the hospitals in Swansea is closed for emergencies after 20.00 and is therefore putting a strain on the other hospital. The last comment of the day was about local authority borders, with one visitor wishing to return to former ones such as West Glamorgan

Music for Healing or What You Need # 1

Corey Fogel and friends: (Shelley Burgon: harp) (Scott Cazan: electronics)

January 22, 10pm-midnight

Baik Art

Please join us Friday, January 22 for an evening with Corey Fogel (and friends). Themes of catharsis and cleansing will lead into a sonic space to prepare us to dream and, ideally, to heal. Between 10pm-midnight, Corey Fogel (and friends) will activate the space of Baik Art.

An intrepid group will spend the night following Fogel’s performance in the ancient Greek tradition of ‘incubation’. Your dreams will be interpreted the following morning by a professional. Please email Matt Wardell at shonufwardell@hotmail.com to reserve your spot. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bedding). Details of the overnight stay will follow. Space is very limited!!

Corey Fogel is a drummer and performance artist currently living in Los Angeles. Corey performs and composes in many rock, jazz, noise, folk, and chamber music capacities. His solo work as a composer and performance artist is based around spontaneous encounters with sounds, objects, personalities, textiles, foods, spanning video, dance, and installation. In addition to touring and recording nationally and abroad, Corey has been a member of groups: Julia Holter, Missincinatti, The Mae Shi, Gowns, Cryptacize, Barbez, Monstro, The Curtains, Learning Music, Nowcloud, Dominique Leone, 18 Squared. Corey has presented his own work with Machine Project, LACMA, Human Resources, The Wulf, The Hammer Museum, and REDCAT. Corey was recently awarded The California Community Foundation 2014 Fellowship in Visual Arts.

Fogel’s current practice evolved from integrating performance with my earliest creative impulses- adolescent experiments with androgyny, color, fashion, rebellion, and humor. Previously compartmentalized personal expression, craft, and music, now co-exist to explore the sublime.

‘Synesthesia, sensuality, and spirituality have always led me to work instinctually with subjects that naturally attract me. I am inspired by abstract characters that exist between mediums. I create site-specific performances by transposing linear and minimalist musical structures into vibrant, multi-layered compositions of fabric, object, sound, gesture, and organic material. Many works are improvisational, and site-specific. A familiar, inviting, perhaps tongue-in-cheek trope provides a platform for more abstract manipulations, often developing into a surreal myth or ritual. Using materiality, physicality, temporality and corporeality, I engage various media to accomplish newly discovered tasks. I try to intuit the most authentic role for each subject, often uncovering innately sexual, visceral relationships that mirror my behaviors as a percussionist. My recent goals are to stage and distill sculptural, video, and photographic pieces that preserve or pause rich ephemeral moments, to collapse boundaries between disciplines.’

- And what, it seems, was allowed right away?

- These KGB bureaucrats doubted for a long time whether I was going to transfer information to the French government or international criminals.

- And how did you persuade it?

- Is it better for you not to know?

- Did you commit murder?

- Not without it.
