For those that aren't familiar with the slang term FOD PLOD it stands for Foreign Object Damage and Plod means walk. In the context of this photo it is a walk to look for loose items that may cause damage to the aircraft when it taxies out and is performed by the Red Arrows ground crew each time they are about to fly. After an extensive search I finally figured out what FOD stood for.
Foreign Object Damage.
From here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_object_damage
"Foreign object damage (FOD) is any damage attributed to a foreign object (i.e. any object that is not part of the vehicle) that can be expressed in physical or economic terms and may or may not degrade the product's required safety or performance characteristics. FOD is an acronym often used in aviation to describe both the damage done to aircraft by foreign objects, and the foreign objects themselves."
On pages 27-30 of the RAF flight safety magazine "Air Clues" it discusses sweeping techniques and a small issue they had with the Mercedes Benz / Schmidt A990 sweepers they had (same as pictured here - except this one appears to fitted with a magnetic pickup bar on the front).

"Following discussion with the manufacturer, it seemed that our sweeping patterns, which involved left-hand turns only, could be the cause of this uneven wear. Therefore, drivers of
these vehicles were instructed to sequence the direction of their turns."
