Water is both fluid and yielding. Point Ruston the Puget Sound in Tacoma Washington. A long exposure on the water and sky create a smooth transition. The old pilings stand out of the water with a pop!

In this minimalist architectural study, I focused on how light plays across concrete surfaces to create subtle gradients and sharp edges. The composition explores the dialogue between rigid geometric forms and the flowing nature of light.

I love the way this image froze the backlit streams of water whipping off this polar bear after it finished a morning romp in the surf. A shot from my Alaska trip last year.
