I feel like there was so much madness in the news this week. So I decided to revisit some photos I shot a couple years ago. I was looking for photos that spark joy, and I came across these from a film swap I did with my awesomely talented friend Adora. Maybe they'll make some of you smile too. <3
My friend Adora suggested we do a film swap. and I am thrilled with the results. I am so grateful for awesome friends who inspire me creatively! Here is a glimpse of Adora's stunning art: www.instagram.com/eye_carumba/?hl=en
My set was shot w/ my Olympus OM 10 loaded w/ Dubble Film Apollo.
From "filmsoup-swap" project with Toby Mason (Fotobes). First, he shot an underpass in Brighton, and then posted the film to Japan. I shot Kakuouzan Nittaiji Temple in Nagoya. After shooting a roll I put the dissolved neutral detergent onto all around the film in a darkroom. Then rewind the film and I heated the canister in boiled water for 5 minutes. After I dried the film I got it developed. Came out psychedelic image. More about this: www.lomography.com/magazine/tipster/2013/02/27/lets-cook-...

Doubles with James Butler [http://www.flickr.com/photos/slimjim]. I have to admit that I have been a bit of an idiot and my batteries died in my LC-A, so this is the only half decent double, the rest were mainly James. I have now learned from my mistakes :(
From my 40th film swap. This time with Daz. Kodak Elite Chrome EBX100 cross processed. I used an Olympus XA4 & I think Daz used an LC-A.

Film: Kodak Professional Portra 400
Whilst lomo hero hodachrome was visiting the UK last month, we did a "quick swap": I shot a roll of film over 48 hours in Brighton, and then he shot the same roll in 48 hours whilst in London. Here we have a view from Brighton's Palace Pier combined with a favourite foot tunnel at Embankment Station. The film (original agfa precisa 100, which expired I think in 2003) was given to me by the ever generous analogue camera fanatic Stephen Dowling..

hodachrome and I have recently completed another film soup swap .. This roll started off in UK, for this image I took a photograph of the fantastic foot tunnel at Embankment Station in London, between the Northern and Bakerloo lines, and then when the film was posted to Japan, hodachrome shot a Lycoris field along the river in Kaizu City, Gifu. We don't discuss what we have each taken photographs of, so the results are always a surprise..
On finishing the roll, Hodaka "cooked" the film using this recipe here.
