For the International Garden Festival in 1984 Merseyside's three main players of the PTE, Ribble and Crosville all provided transport to get from the city centre to the event, all using vehicles with a standard yellow 'Festival Transport' front. Whilst the PTE used new Atlanteans on the service, Ribble and Crosville used some of the older stalwarts from their fleets. Crosville used ex Southdown J registered Fleetlines whilst Ribble opted for 12 months younger K plate Bristol VR's. One of the latter is seen departing the festival site whilst a PTE Atlantean loads behind.
Seoul’s annual, very colourful, lantern festival is currently running daily in the evening from 5pm to 11pm until November 22nd in downtown Seoul’s Cheonggyecheon Stream starting at Cheonggye Plaza for over a kilometer up to Supyogyo Bridge. This year’s festival has lanterns covering four themes; Antique Beauty in Seoul, Past Lives Met in Seoul, Seoul Today, and Seoul Together. Visitors can also participate in the festival by creating their own floating or hanging lanterns. The very popular festival is a great way to spend an autumn evening in central Seoul while taking in the vibrant atmosphere alongside the natural beauty of the stream.

The largest fireball ever rises from “Crude Awakening” and illuminates (after the torching of a 90-foot-plus art piece) the Playa at the 2007 Burning Man counterculture festival in ‘Black Rock’ City, State of ‘Nevada’ in the western United States of America on 02nd September 2007.

Thousands of revellers cheered as the annual Burning Man counterculture festival climaxed with 02 spectacular pyrotechnic shows on the northern 'Nevada' desert. Fireworks erupted as the 40-foot-tall wooden figure known as "The Man," the festival's signature effigy, went up in flames Saturday, the 01st, night and fell to the ‘Black Rock’ desert, 120 miles north of ‘Reno,’ which is nicknamed as "The Biggest Little City in the World"......The other spectacular show was “Crude Awakening.”
The eclectic art festival was to end its weeklong run Monday, the 03rd September, after the burning of more artwork Sunday, the 02nd, night including the "Temple of Remembrance."

Burning Man's green focus raises concerns of corporate contracts (inclusive of Festival Photos)
Several miles from ‘Black Rock’ City, the temporary town created annually in the ‘Nevada’ desert, celebrants approaching 2007 Burning Man counterculture festival can see the wooden effigy glow bright green in the night. What they can't see from the distance is a sheet of panels 50 yards from the Man powering the ghostly glow. ‘Renewable Ventures,’ a San Francisco alternative energy company, donated the solar generator, and the firm's presence on the desert floor - along with other companies given exclusive contracts to show off their clean-tech wares - is stirring controversy.

According to Hindu mythology Goddess Kali with a fierce face and terrifying look is the first of the ten incarnations of Goddess Durga. Kali is worshiped as the Mother Goddess who is known to destroy all evil. As legend goes, once the demons named Shambhu and Nishambhu grew in force and pose a challenge to Indra, King of Gods, and his Kingdom of Heaven. Gods sought protection from Mahamaya Durga, the Goddess of Shakti or Power. At this stage Goddess Kali was born from Durga's forehead as Kal Bhoi Nashini to save heaven and earth from the growing cruelty of the demons.
Kali Pooja is celebrated on the Amavasya or the no moon night in the Hindu month of Kartik (October/November). This date of Kali Pooja coincides with Diwali, the Festivals of Lights. Kali Puja is one of the major festivals for people in West Bengal, particularly in my native village Sonamukhi, and they celebrate the occasion with much gusto and enthusiasm. Kali pujja is celebrated in Sonamukhi for 5 days and thousands of people hop temple to temple just to have a glimpse of huge idols, as big as 20ft in height.
