In this image, after the young cheetahs had had their fill of the impala, the mother finished it off. In the end it had been a very successful hunt, capture, and feast for all concerned.

Stare of a tiger
Tigers prefer to hunt by ambush, so by looking a tiger in the eyes you are showing him you know he is there. Now he has lost the element of surprise, and will most likely go find something else to feast on.
The tiger is the biggest species of the cat family. Tigers can reach a length of up to 3.3 metres (11 feet) and weigh as much as 300 kilograms (660 pounds). Subspecies of the tiger include the Sumatran Tiger, Siberian Tiger, Bengal Tiger, South China Tiger, Malayan Tiger and Indochinese Tiger.
A ladybug feasting on aphids is nothing new – but it takes on an otherworldly appearance when photographed in ultraviolet fluorescence. View large!
Wandering through my garden the other day, I noticed this ladybug and colony of aphids on the underside of a Seneca Plum leaf. Immediately, thinking of the opportunity that presents for another fun UV shot, I scrambled together my setup for such images with a “test leaf” of comparable size to get the camera settings and focus perfect for the real subject. Here’s a shot of the setup and my test leaf: donkom.ca/bts/IMG_2994.JPG
Knowing that all I needed to do was transfer the leaf with all of its inhabitants to the studio, I grabbed a small pair of cosmetic scissors to very careful sever the leaf from the tree and place it in front of the camera. This was the first shot taken.
What I hadn’t noticed before was the strange growths on the ladybug. This would appear to be a parasitic fungus, Hesperomyces virescens, which is commonly found on Harlequin Ladybugs. It doesn’t impair the beetle in any way, thankfully! It fluoresces green as do the aphids, the first time I’ve seen this colour of fluorescence in insects.
The ladybug itself had a pale brown colour resulting from UVIVF (ultraviolet-induced visible fluorescence), but I nudged those colours back to the characteristic “red” we all know ladybugs to be. The eyes are blue, and that seems to be a standard with most bugs I’ve seen – from spiders to cicadas – in these conditions.
It’s important to note that the leaf and the aphids were exactly the same colour in the visible spectrum. The eyes of the ladybug are normally black, and the fungus on its back was a yellowish colour. The colour things are to our own eyes have no bearing on what colour they can potentially fluoresce to! (Iris leaves, for example, fluoresce orange)
Another successful experiment! The ladybug flew off somewhere in my studio and hasn’t been seen since, and the aphid colony has found a new home inside my Praying Mantis enclosure. It was their fate one way or another!
Yeasterday I went to have my lunch by the river Monnow. 2 sandwiches, 20 minutes and go back to work but ... nooooo. I've set up my pop-up tent, went in, one bite of bread and suddenly here she comes-just 2 meters away ! Maybe the kingfisher wanted to have a common meal :) "The worst" is that she stayed on the next perch for nearly an hour !! One of the most incredible break at work :)

Prompt: Create a digital fine art painting in a square aspect ratio, depicting a 17th-century Thanksgiving feast among early Pilgrim settlers gathered around a rustic wooden table in a colonial cabin.
At the center of the table sits a large roasted turkey, surrounded by platters of bread, root vegetables, corn, and stewed dishes, all rendered with rich texture and golden tones. The tablecloth is simple linen, slightly wrinkled and stained from the hearty meal.
The scene shows men and women dressed in authentic Pilgrim attire — black and brown garments with white collars and cuffs, bonnets, and tall hats. Their faces are expressive, reflecting warmth and gratitude as they converse and share food. The composition captures the intimate atmosphere of the first Thanksgiving: firelit, earthy, and full of reverence.
Add a West Highland White Terrier sitting attentively at the table between two figures, its bright white fur contrasting softly against the warm brown tones of the room. The Westie should have an alert but gentle expression, looking toward the feast, adding a touch of charm and innocence to the historic scene.
Include subtle background details such as dried herbs and corn hanging from wooden beams, pumpkins and gourds on the floor, and warm, diffused light illuminating the faces and food. The overall tone should convey a feeling of community, gratitude, and timeless tradition.

I am drunk with our durians feast, there are so many types of taste - bitter ones, wine scent, sweet ones, Lui chi ones and the green she'll ones
But actually, here, it is not justified.
I may add that one of the consensuses in the Israeli society is the bad relation to the Ultra-Orthodox Jew.
Some may say that they earned in by themselves,
but there are beautiful aspects in this community, we can appreciate, and learn from.
One of them is the mutual help for those in need.
Here, you see an example of it:
Towards Passover people clean their houses very, very thoroughly
("and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee, in all thy borders", Exodus, 13:9).
As the feast approached it becomes challenging to prepare food for the (many, many) children, alongside the other duties.
Therefore, one of the members of the community, from his own initiative, arranges lunch to tens of children, in the main square of the neighborhood.
a boodle feast is the philippine version of a popular southeast asian preparation of a dine in feast. the viands are arranged in between a long line of rice where the guests, eating together, can partake of the meal. traditionally guests will be eating standing up. it is a fun and enjoyable way of enjoying a meal with friends and family occasionally
the fourth image in my newest series Sweet Feast. only one more to go~ welcome to the alluring and curious tea party a half wild girl would throw for herself and her feral friends upon finding a party dress.
I even wrote an accompanying article on my initial inspiration and the process of creating the final images. please check it out in the newest issue of Strongbox Magazine.

Teasels are such amazing plants with great form and stature. This time of year those circles of purple flowers are a magnet for bees, later they'll be equally loved by goldfinches.

Feast of Our Virgin of Health
The feast of the Virgin of Health is a religious festival in the city of Venice, which takes place November 21 of each year. It is a pilgrimage of thanksgiving towards the Virgin that has as its goal the basilica of Santa Maria della Salute.
Throughout the day, in the church, kept open without interruption, are celebrated continuously masses and rosaries, with a continuous influx of the faithful.
The recurrence originates from the large outbreak of bubonic plague that struck the whole of northern Italy between 1630 and 1631.
