OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I was only a couple of feet away but this little one just dove in and had a feast! He must have been really hungry!

Wishing you all a HAPPY, PEACEFUL, SAFE and a BLESSED New Week!

Thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind comments an favs. They are very much appreciated!

The peel apart film cartridge in my homemade pinhole camera malfunctioned and had to be destroyed. It had been in the camera far too long and either the roller froze, or the film wouldn't separate. Say la vee.

macro mondays: I made this...

One of my other hobbies is playing table top role playing games, and with that we make mini monsters. The roper is completely made by me from clay and toothpicks, and plastic snake parts...and then painted. The ranger is painted from a 3D printed mini. Spoiler - she wins ;)

I took these last week because I goofed the challenge weeks. I really like how they turned out. I can't use them for the actual challenge this week, but they were fun.

While this serpent may look imposing, the "fear" existed almost entirely with this 3-4' long Bull Snake. They do their best to sound like a rattle snake but the tail and narrow head give them away. My Boxer was fearless, attacking it as soon as it made entry into the yard. It took me several minutes to call her off and then several more to gently push him back outside of our fence with a broom. He was exhausted and terrified but eventually stretched back out and slithered away (hopefully to eat the many small pests living in the area).

Macro Monday's and the theme of "Phobia".

Basophobia is apparently a fear of falling and I found this one on the internet. After having a few thoughts on how I could present certain phobias I decided to go with this one.

Initially I planned to drop this Lego character in front of my camera and have the ambient exposure record the blur of the character falling and then rear curtain sync flash freeze him in mid air. This wasn't turning out too well though and using a pair of pliers to hold the character and move him downwards during the exposure didn't fair much better. I then decided to photograph the character from 3 different angles using my flashgun and merge these together. Once this was done I duplicated the character and then applied a motion blur filter and reduced the opacity so it looks a bit like he is falling.

After taking the characters photo I then placed a couple of toy buildings in the frame but back a little bit so they appear out of focus and I settled on this one so it would appear like he fell off the roof.

I myself do not like heights that much but do like to look down from a height as it makes my legs go funny. I once took a photo from the top of a multi story car park which has a Samaritans sign and included this along with the view down. By the time I triggered the exposure my legs were buckling.

A recycled frame.....

In the modern "way" we are encouraged to recycle, as much and as often as we can.

I quite like recycling frames, i shoot a frame, to keep, post, sometimes Bin, but why bin, when you can recycle, i view and review images, rotate, flip, and often rework them, on a whim of an idea... i fear a waste of my time, after all no one knows how long they have left.....

I see a person, hunched against the weather, ambling toward a fiery portal, high on a rickety bridge over a city scape, or maybe it's just me... it covers a few of our phobias.

Yet then again, it could be a person returning home,to a welcoming fire, a place to dry and warm and relax after a day at work.....

Living in fear is just no way to live!

"When a Bat flies into our inner night... we are called to descend inside our fears to examine them closely. Thanks to the reversal of our point of view to this new perspective, confidence in our abilities will be born in us. The Bat tells us about an initiatory test: the crossing of the Dark Night of the Soul, as Coehlo calls it."

Fear comes from unknown....!

Have a grand week guys.Thank you for comments and faves.

The Nara Great Buddha is about 15 meters high and was completed in 752 AD.

This is one of the main five gestures of the hands in Buddha statues and means "fear not". I want to dedicate this message to those who have been fighting for their rights and lives.

Little Bones Fears

A R T E Freckles

It was really tough today. Not only the sunlight at noon, but also the shooting. The bird was perfect. Not even 5 meters away, very patient and let me take a good 150 pictures. Then the fright. Hardly one was even remotely sharp. At first I thought I had adjusted something. That was not so. Then came the fear, of course, that something is broken.

At some point, when I was also quite warm, the thought of heat shimmering came to me. But does that have such a serious effect even at five meters? Only when I focused another bird, further away, through the clear image zoom, did I see the flickering in the magnification.

There are not 20 images left and none of them are really good. At least I hope that it was really only the heat.

We all have that fear,

that beautiful fear of

the end.

What is the end though,

it differs for us all,

for some there is nothing,

nothing at all.

For others though,

that beautiful fear,

is ceased by the

thought that eternal

life is near.

When dose the fear subside?

That too is up for interpretation,

as a life force of mass and energy

has no end.

For me it subsides,

when my soul inside,

I tend.

We all have that fear,

that beautiful fear of

the end.
