Artist: Emily Ding "Sustainable Fashion" Mural
The artwork features two people representing the alternatives for sustainable fashion. The woman holds a boat shuttle for handmade loom weaving and there is mending visible on the man's denim jacket. He is smelling marigolds which is a natural dye. Both figures are standing in front of mounds of clothes reminding us to support slow fashion and reduce the amount of textiles going into landfills and reduce fashion waste.
Mural commissioned by the organization Street Art For Mankind
I have decided all my dolls are keepers! I am still cleaning and organizing and rediscovering all these beauties!
‘NEW’ FASHIONS- Even though I don’t have many dolls from that era, I’m starting to really get into the fashions from the early 1970s! Here’s three really coveted ones that I was lucky to get recently. (From left to right:-) Gayle in ‘Zing-A-Ding’ from 1973/1974, my blonde gauntlet-armed Lovely Lively in ‘Queen of the Ball’ from 1971/1972 (in terrific condition… LOVE that very cool brocade!!) and my new auburn haired gauntlet-armed Lovely Lively in my just-arrived ‘Checker Decker’ from 1973, whom I think is so pretty that she deserved a close-up. These outfits are all so diverse that I decided to just shoot all three against a plain white backdrop to really show them off.
