A pretty rural scene that caught my attention near the tiny farming settlement of Alfredton in the Tararua district.

37422 passes Crabley Crossing. This is the last crossing on the stretch of line between Hull and Selby that is still manned, complete with signal box. The crossing guards the entrance to Crabley Farm and is very close to the shores of the River Humber.
37422 was working the 3J51 0950 York to York North Yorks RHTT circuit with 37419 on the rear.
I was in the area on the latest 1Z10 shoot along with many others who were mostly based in Leeds, as it turned out my circuitous route and schedule didnt allow me to meet up with the guys but I did meet the crossing keeper and fellow Flicorite "Civil Trespass" who recognised me and is also an acquaintance of our own "SydsPix" Great to meet up and thanks for making me feel welcome.
Enjoying the company of a local farmer, talking about the weather, the price of wheat and generally putting the world back on course.
You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in fields of gold
So she took her love
For to gaze awhile
Upon the fields of barley
In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold
(Sting, Fields of Gold)
Couldn't help thinking of this song whilst taking this shot, one of my favourites
Please check out my other images and feel free to comment, many thanks

Another skiff based on models by monsterpartyhat with more than a little inspiration from -majortom-. This small one-seater is equipped to sift through the shallow waters of the wetland farms of T\'brini for delicious fish eggs.
Still trying to get the lighting to behave. I realized that I use my computer with "nightlight mode" and that that skews the actual render hue. This model also shows off one thing that many irl builders dont always realize about digital mocs: you have to place EVERY PART. Maybe someday I’ll get Blender physics to work with builds and then I can just let “piles” of parts fall into place.
A large area near where I live is called the plains/flats. This is just a little corner of it.

A dog walking pic from t'other morning using the little Sony RX100 compact. A great wee machine that is small enough to fit into any pocket. I was feeling a bit under the weather but the dog needed a walk and I didn't really fancy carrying a camera bag but I can't leave the house without a camera. Its just not physically possible. For a tiny compact it really is a fabulous tool. Great image quality and resolves detail like a far bigger machine.
Single RAW file processed in LR5 and finished in CC. I've used what I would call my "Winter Warmer" preset. Basically just added a pair of Longjohns and a Merino wool vest.
Since 1990, Zanzibar has become a primary seaweed producer in Africa. Seaweed farming activities are usually small-scale and carried out in the intertidal zones largely in marine conservation areas, near mangroves and coral reefs. Eighty-eight per cent of seaweed farmers are women, making this an important activity to elevate their economic status and role in the community. New approaches to aquaculture and marine conservation have emerged only recently (in terms of concrete projects since 2014), with the case in Zanzibar serving as a first attempt to test the level of adherence of seaweed farming with the IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions. I travelled up to Gidgegannup to do some work and then onto Toodyay to stay at a friends farm for the night. The landscape is starting to dry out as the hot summer approaches.
Friday afternoon I visited Lake Orchards Farm and spent time learning about aquaponics farming. The closed system tilapia-based farming produces fish and vegetables which are a local food source. I was especially interested in the tilapia aspect as I had been introduced to tilapia in Kenya restaurants decades ago when I was teaching there as a Peace Corps volunteer.
If you wish to learn more about the farm, please follow the link:
On the way home from Tucson through the Gila River Indian Community you could see this cloud of dust for quite a distance. It was this piece of farm equipment. It may have been coincidence, but as soon as I got out to take a photo, the tractor stopped. Dust is the number one air pollutant in this part of AZ. Actually I only photographed it because I found it interesting.
This is my entry for the Brickscalibur 2022 contest in the category "Farmstead Figures".
This community is living far in the North and occupied with the types of farming possible there.
One family is herding reindeers and cutting wood (also with reindeer help).
The father of the other family is busy ice fishing, the children are responsible for the rabbits and dogs. Mom is caring for the youngest child, grandma for the food and grandpa is trying some arts in the form of ice sculpting.
Every now and then the trader comes by with his dog sled to transport goods to and from the next village.
