INS Betwa maintains position along INS Aditya's port side as the fuel hose is winched across to the receiving bell aboard Betwa.

Title: The St. Thomas Street Railway, Belt Line Car No. 62, ca. 1905, travelling west on Talbot Street at Mary Street. View is looking east on Talbot Street from Hincks Street. The St. Thomas Post Office is partially visible on the northwest corner of Talbot and Mary Streets. Further east are visible the Mickleborough Building (designed and constructed in 1903 by architect Neil Darrach) on the northeast corner of Talbot and Mary Streets, and the Journal Building (with the original domed tower intact; it was removed ca. 1918) on the northwest corner of Talbot and Hiawatha Streets. Note the brick surface on Talbot Street. The street bricks were removed when Talbot Street was resurfaced (paved) in 1915; much of the old street brick was reused in newly constructed houses. The "Belt Line" travelled on a circuit in the centre of the city, principally along Talbot and Wellington Streets. Photograph may have been taken by M.G. Hay, a bookseller and stationer who took photographs for use in postcards, which he sold from his store.

This is a Grand Trunk Railway snow plough clearing the rail lines in St-Agapit, Québec, in 1869. I wonder if they talked about a "catastrophic snow fall" back then, or if they just called it …you know… winter?

With the connection between INS Betwa and INS Aditya made, we picked up speed to come alongside Aditya and begin our own replenishment.

At 0925 on a weekday during the summer of 2016, three rail replacement coaches arrive together at Appleby – one from Penrith and two (via different routes) from Carlisle. On 11 July, the first to arrive was by far the oldest: Volvo B10M/Van Hool Alizee E2 KTS on the direct service from Carlisle. Now with KT's Coaches of Kendal, it was originally registered F39 EEG when delivered to Cambridgeshire independent Kenzies in 1989; it later worked for Forget-me-not and Thompsons Coaches, both in Suffolk, before moving to its current home.

Title: Tickets were being sold for a draw on this hand-made quilt as part of the annual fund-raising Daffodil Cancer tea, which was held in August 1981 at Fingal United Church. Here Mrs. Viola Crabe, left, tea convenor displays the quilt with her assistants, from left to right, Ann Kerkvliet, Betty Smith, Phyllis Horton and Rose Price. All funds raised at the tea would be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. Fingal United Church members said a final goodbye to their place of worship on May 12 with a tea party. The 130-year-old church has been sold to become a private home and concert hall.

The "bikini girls", I suppose you can call them, =P

The girl in the center needs some arms and legs. Up until a few days ago, I had completely forgotten about the existence of this head and this torso. I did some surgery on the head, sanding off the previous (horrific) face paint and kind of reshaped her head a bit, then repainted her. =)

Updateee: I actually found a picture of how the center girl used to look! -> i39.servimg.com/u/f39/18/63/23/96/img03910.jpg . I'm glad I have that picture as a distant memory, haha.

The girl on the right has a "real hair" ponytail. Long hair is always fun, though of course it's not possible to give them long wooden hair :P. I may try gluing on hair for a future doll, instead of painting it on =).

Title: In May 1967, Sgt. Reg Armstrong was able to send and receive messages with the new radio unit permanently installed in the Aylmer Police Department Cruiser. This allowed police to communicate with the office from anywhere within a 35-mile radius.
