General Dynamics F-16C "Viper" (90-0768), 309th FS "Wild Ducks", Luke AFB, Arizona. Originally operated by the 310th FS. The paint scheme is patterned after a WWII P-47D flown by the 310th.

This is the female of a pair of Bullfinches that have been visiting the garden recently.

Unfortunately, its been in fairly dull, rainy conditions but it's been a real treat to see them as they are very rare visitors.

Sadly, no accompanying young ones though.

This is why I don't usually shoot the whole car, preferring to focus on the details. Look at those lines. And the reflection of the overhead lights just above the grille make it look like it got into a bit of a tiff with another kitty.

B&W just makes it look a bit more sinister.

Crossbills again - I went back for more! In the trees this time.

The F-roads are unpaved gravel roads that are only accessible in a 4x4 SUV and are only open during the summer. The majority of Iceland's highlands, a mountainous central region, are traversed by F-roads; the letter "F" is derived from the Icelandic word "fjall," which means mountain.

Some F-roads are smooth gravel roads with maximum speed limit at 50 mph (80 kph), while most have potholes, ruts and boulders that need to be navigated. Others call for driving over sand dunes, through incredibly rocky terrain, and fording rivers.

All F-roads are remote with almost no facilities - no stores, gas stations or hotels - but they will take you to some of Iceland's most breathtaking landscapes.

Very pleased to see some Linnets appearing in the garden.

I have seen a male but so far only managed to photograph this female.

In this difficult time when nothing is as it usually is, watching the birds in the garden carrying on their normal lives is a huge boost.
