This shot was taken with the Sigma 20mm. I love that lens, I was able to take this picture from a distance of probably 3 or 4 inches.
The Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 is a great lens itself though. I've had 2 over the past four years. The first one I picked up for $50, but it was an older version of the lens. It was still good as it had a metal lens mount. I ended up giving that lens to <a href="http://flickr.com/photos/nsbkim"Nancy and picked up the one you see here (used) from Henry's. It was about $70.
This is a great lens and I'll be keeping it in my kit until I get a Nikkor 50mm f/1.4!
Here are my pictures taken with the Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
This semi-adapted projector lens is f/1 so it has a tiny DoF resulting in lots of blur with its (currently limited) close focus. I have plans to machine off some of the tail of the lens to improve its focusing ability for more distant subjects.

My niece with her dog Tipou at Christmas evening. Quebec City, Canada.
Ella with her favourite ball, well-used at this point and now, thankfully, long gone! These sponge balls get pretty gross after a while.

I didn’t yet work up the courage to get down with a spray can on the new Super Mario kart wheel piece I've used here as an engine cowl cover, but that doesn’t mean that even as it is, it’s all that far from a reasonable "IKANOPIT", the real deal which originally inspired me and got me into building this. I love the deep dark browns livery of that biplane and there are some very cool images around, should you be interested to pull a quick search or follow the tags.
Shot with my 1964 Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50mm F/1.8 rare 8 aperture blade version.
This East German Zeiss was manufactured until 1991 and was usually found attached to Praktikas via the M42 mount.
This lens was produced with rare-earth compounds containing lanthanum are extensively used in carbon lighting applications, especially by the motion picture industry for studio lighting and projection. Lanthanum (III) oxide is used in some camera lenses. It’s added to reduce dispersion and improve the clarity of images.

Back in early 1982 a Milwaukee Road commuter train arrives at Chicago Union Station. My ole Caddy down there was a real chick magnet!
Canon F-1 on Kodachrome.
This is an early F-1, built in August 1971. It is among the first 20,000 bodies produced since March 1971.
It also has markings.
Rare this nice.

Female sparrowhawk. Had flown into our fruit cage and got trapped, where also a cat was trying to catch it. Luckily for it, Jim was outside, put on his gardening gloves and rescued it. Luckily for me, he held it, while I grabbed my ever ready camera and nipped outside for a few shots, before releasing it. It sat on his hand for a minute before realising it was free to go. I've included a couple of shots where it's showing its 3rd eyelid.
Those pesky blocks, sticking together like crazy.
Nothing seems to be able to part these blocks! Time for the power tools!
Come on! #YouCan do it!
