At some point, this station was branded as an Esso or Exxon/Mobil however it is now a BP franchise. Interesting how the Esso tiger statue remained, despite being a trademark of the Esso/Exxon brand.

On March 24, 1989, the tanker Exxon Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Within six hours of the grounding, the Exxon Valdez spilled approximately 10.9 million gallons (259,500 barrels) of its 53 million gallon cargo of Prudhoe Bay crude oil. The oil would eventually impact more than 1,100 miles of non-continuous coastline in Alaska, making the Exxon Valdez the largest oil spill in U.S. waters at the time.

For a brief period in the 1980s (?) this Esso gas bar at Lakeshore Blvd and Bathurst St in Toronto carried the Exxon brand. Note the price of 28 cents per litre! The gas bar is still there under the Esso brand.

Detail from the back of a circa 1970 Esso-Humble Oil credit card, showing the Esso, Humble and Enco logos that were used at gas stations across the United States through the 1960s until the Exxon brand was introduced in late 1972.
Also shown are other oil company logos and the states where the card could be used at those stations. Ironically these were non-affiliated companies, but they all had origins in Rockefeller's Standard Oil Trust and were all using variations of the Standard Oil Company name.
