I was at an art/business workshop most of the day. Someone talked me into playing hooky for about an hour in the middle of it. We dashed off to the casting session for Public Enemies, the Depression-era gangster film that will star Johnny Depp and is going to be shot in Wisconsin in the coming months.

The cattle call was a peculiar, alienating experience. Filled out a card, had my photo taken, and scurried on back to the workshop.

This picture is part of my set of pictures of the new Tesco Extra on Saville Street in Sheffield - the first Tesco Extra in Sheffield.

I'm trying to add to the set of images as the site moves from empty car garages to building site to new shop.

It should be opening in "Autumn" (according to the signs), but Tesco tend to build things at ferocious pace (compared to Government buildings which stagnate for a long time)

On Oct. 20th, 2012, Extra Life Edmonton played an epic 24 hour video game marathon in support of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation via the Children's Miracle Network.

For this event, they partnered with Startup Edmonton who hosted the event in their space in the new Mercer Warehouse in downtown Edmonton.

Mike House, President and CEO of the Foundation, dropped by the Mercer as on Twitter he and one of the organizers had challenged each other to a Wii Sports face-off.

Everybody came out the winner, though, as Extra Life Edmonton successfully raised more than $20,000 for the kids at the Stollery. Thanks guys!!

Sorry for the abundance of aircraft shots lately. It's been wickedly cold in NY as of late and I don't feel much like going outside. With any luck, I'll be diversifying by the weekend ;)

Talk about a nice fish, how about this huge extra large redfin caught by Dave Clarke in Australia using a G. Loomis SJR781 IMX spinning rod. We can see why Dave is smiling!

Thank you so much, Rita!

My milky teeth took a while to fall out, and when I was nine, I realised that I had my permanent teeth growing behind my milky ones. The dentist quickly asked for some X-Rays of my mouth, and she found out I had an extra tooth hidden between my permanent superior incisors (that didn't grow yet).

She recommended us to a surgeon and soon the menace was out of my out. As you can see by the pictures, it was so big that he had to saw it before taking it off.

Sometimes I wonder about how horrifying it would have been if said extra tooth had the chance to grow.

I recently did a shoot for an agency who wanted me to be in their database of extras. Why the hell not!? Ended up getting a gig as a Police officer for a Danish flick called "Ved Verdens Ende" or "At World's End". It was an interesting experience being in front of the camera, rather than shooting. I'm the "Indonesian Police Officer". Was heaps of fun.

We bought a half-gallon of Extra Small oysters from Taylor Shellfish at "Taylortown" (just north of Olympia).

I was somewhat surprised to find that the "extra" smalls were a bit larger than I expected. I pulled out 7 oysters for Hangtown Fry, and 3 of them were "smalls" rather than "extra smalls". The next 8 were all on the large side.

Other growers grade them differently: Extra Small should be 2 1/2 - 3 inches (145-250/gal.) I counted the oysters to see if there were indeed more than 72 oysters in the half-gallon (per 21 CFR 36.20); instead, there were only 61.

Mind you, they tasted fine, and were good & plump, but I'm not happy to have paid the extra $5 premium for what appear to be not-extra small oysters at this business.

This large operation has machinery that automatically grades their shucked oyster meats. Perhaps the machine was merely in need of calibration. However, the business has a responsibility to assure quality control. If they don't, they will lose customers.

I left them a message, so that they could address the Quality Control issue. On Feb. 27th, Mr. Austin Docter, Processing Director for Taylor Shellfish replied, letting me know that the issue would be "logged and discussed at our next crew meeting". He also sent me two (count 'em - two!) $1 bills for the difference in cost . . . apparently forgetting the difference between the price of a pint and that of a half-gallon.

Extra 20th Reunions hats for the taking.

Got out on a snow day with some cameras...went looking for trains, but found some other things to photograph as well!

This was a nice long coal train so I had a minute to line up the "going away" shot with the distributed power shoving on the rear of the train.

I was surprised to see 3 extra sets of hands for my girl! Awesome!

I've been a member of the Norfolk Botanical Gardens for 5 years. This koi has been there for all of them. I don't think it has a name, so I have been calling him Wong Sik Seen Sahn (Mr. Yellow Color). I've had a koi pond for ten years and have 3 fish that are more than 10 years old. I heard a rumor these things could go for as much as 60 years.
