Activists from Extinction Rebellion block traffic at Oxford Circus, in the heart of London's shopping district, and stage a fashion show "intended to disrupt the language and symbols of the fashion industry." With pink carpets laid for a catwalk, and music playing, models showed off garments made from recylable materials in a protest highlighting the wasteful and disposable nature of the fashion industry and its significant contribution to the carbon dioxide emmissions which cause global warming.

Several hundred Extinction Rebellion activists perform a dramatic protest in Whitehall, London - the seat of government - pouring gallons of fake blood outside the Prime Minister's residence in Downing Street after a solemn ceremony and calls for politicians to take seriously the threats posed by global warming and biodiversity loss to the planet. The blood symbolized that of the children lost through unabated climate change.
A smaller group later headed to Oxford Circus - the heart of London's shopping district - and performed some hilarious songs in cacophonous style before causing traffic diversions by blocking the roads.

Extinction Rebellion protest and civil disobedience Saturday 9 December, in front of Flinders street station. Myself and my two dogs, Chihuahuas Juliet and Indiana Jones were arrested, details given, with a fine expected. 74 other people were arrested.
This is the ABC News coverage of the protest which includes a cameo of us being arrested at the end of the report.
I Provide a statement of reasons why I participated with my dogs in this climate civil disobedience in Melbourne.
The Australian federal court recently ruled that the federal government has a duty of care to protect future generations from climate harm, and the federal government is seeking to appeal this ruling.
Extinction Rebellion staged an action at the front of Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg's electoral office to demand that the government take its commitment to protecting future generations seriously. Two activists scaled the roof and remained in place for close to six hours as police were reportedly reluctant to make any arrests. Several activists also glued on the front door entrance to the office.
