Extinction Rebellion - San Francisco
April 15, 2019
Youth with Extinction Rebellion SF Bay lead powerful rally, march and direct action, shutting down 7th St and painting a giant street mural in front of the San Francisco Federal Building, demanding immediate action to address climate change. This was part of a global week of action in 22 countries.
Several hundred Extinction Rebellion activists perform a dramatic protest in Whitehall, London - the seat of government - pouring gallons of fake blood outside the Prime Minister's residence in Downing Street after a solemn ceremony and calls for politicians to take seriously the threats posed by global warming and biodiversity loss to the planet. The blood symbolized that of the children lost through unabated climate change.
A smaller group later headed to Oxford Circus - the heart of London's shopping district - and performed some hilarious songs in cacophonous style before causing traffic diversions by blocking the roads.

The Australian federal court recently ruled that the federal government has a duty of care to protect future generations from climate harm, and the federal government is seeking to appeal this ruling.
Extinction Rebellion staged an action at the front of Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg's electoral office to demand that the government take its commitment to protecting future generations seriously. Two activists scaled the roof and remained in place for close to six hours as police were reportedly reluctant to make any arrests. Several activists also glued on the front door entrance to the office.
