Well, an (extended) moment from yesterday. We went to Cockney's at Marsamxett, and we ate a nice seafoodish meal and relaxed. Of course, the camera with my little 50mm was by the side...

This one really impressed me. I just made a quick selection, taking about 15 seconds, with the Lasso tool freehand, then triggered Content-Aware Fill. This is the (untweaked) result, after it processed for perhaps 3 seconds.

It's critical to make your selection as tight as you reasonably can. If, for example, I'd made a loose selection to the right of myself in the pic above (as you're looking at it), then there would have been some sea copied into the space where I stood, creating an odd appearance.

ATIENDE A MANIFESTANTES

From 13 Feet 7" to 19 Feet 3"

Now that's what I call a long trailer!

This trailer is approximately 3 times the normal length of a UK trailer.

I've seen these trailers being pulled and escorted by Airbus branded vehicles.

Its destination is one of the Airbus plants in the UK, probably Broughton in North Wales where they make wings for the A350.

The trailer is manufactured by Broshuis of Holland.

Seville Cathedral is the largest medieval church in the World, it's bulk is staggering with chapels and other structures extending the already massive church in all sorts of directions, though this does render the exterior somewhat hard to appreciate, much of it being tightly crammed in amongst the surrounding city streets. The impression is one of great width and block-like forms emerging above the rooftops, rather than the emphasis on soaring height found in French cathedrals.

Unusually the main body of the cathedral has no central or western towers (unless one counts the low stump over the crossing), instead being content to use the pre-existing Giralda tower adjoining the north east corner; this was once the minaret of the mosque that stood on this site during the Moorish period. It's upper storeys form the belfry and are a Renaissance addition, but the body of the tower with it's surface decoration is a stunning testament to the skill of the Islamic builders.

Most of the cathedral itself dates to the late 15th and early 16th centuries, and it's massive scale was clearly meant to surpass the former mosque on the site following the Spanish reconquest. However elements of the mosque building were incorporated into the present building, the already mentioned Giralda tower and the courtyard of 'los naranjos' (oranges) on the north side, serving as a kind of cloister, where elegant Moorish arches can still be seen (a motif subtly also used by the builders of the cathedral itself in some of the clerestorey windows).

The interior is vast and seems to extend in every direction with further aisles and chapels, and the scale makes it rather hard to take in. There are rich altarpieces, furnishings and stained glass windows everywhere, most in post-medieval styles (the glass is largely Renaissance whilst most of the altars are Baroque). The main exception to this rule is the awe-inspiring reredos behind the high altar, the retablos major, a wall of gilded sculpture rising almost the full height of the cathedral and adorned with scenes from the life of Christ, culminating in a dramatic coving and Crucifixion group at the apex. It is largely the work of one Flemish sculptor and dates from the early 16th century.

There are also many monuments to bishops and others, mostly in the side chapels, but the most famous is that erected in the 19th century to house the body of Christopher Columbus. His sarcophagus is held aloft by four dramatic vaguely art-nouveau figures in the south transept.

Many chambers and chapels in Renaissance and Baroque styles are attached to the south east corner of the cathedral, and with their lavish domes and interior make a visit to this huge church an even more bewildering yet fascinating experience.

Another of my favourite family group-portraits . . . with a long-lost Aunt, and her grand-daughter ....

who recently re-appeared after ten years . . on FACEBOOK !!

St Mary, Bucklesham, Suffolk

Set down a quiet lane not far from its village centre, this is an attractive little church despite a relatively undistinguished pedigree. Small churches which were largely rebuilt during the second half of the 19th Century can sometimes be a little characterless, but not so here.

The rebuilding took place throughout 1878, and when the church reopened after being closed for nearly a year, there were, according to the Ipswich Journal, gasps of astonishment at the impressive and radical alterations. The nave had been extended and a new south aisle and chancel added. Not much had survived the restorers, but early 14th Century doorways were retained, the one on the north side with its external holy water stoup. Some work was retained from an earlier restoration in the 1840s, including the east and west windows which were reset in the new walls.

Inside, the church retains its 17th Century pulpit and 15th Century font. In medieval times this must have been quite an impressive church, judging by the foundations of the great west tower which were uncovered in the 1920s. But centuries of neglect meant that by the 18th century it had fallen, and like many rural Suffolk churches, St Mary was virtually derelict by the time of its restoration.

A sign of changing attitudes to old buildings is the London newspaper which reported at the time of the rebuilding that the old church had been conspicuous by its ugliness. It added that fortunately, its situation was not a prominent one, so that only those living in Bucklesham remember it as an eyesore. As much as we might have preferred the old church to the new nowadays, I think this trim little building would still please the Victorian villagers today.

In response to add mulch here. Toyota sells bed extenders for like $200 and it wouldn't do a well with mulch.

Does it add space to the bed off the pick up? Yes. Is it needed? No. Will it get used? I am sure at least 3 times, probably no more than 10.

With the hinges I am sure it will store away much better than the Toyota model. In fact I can fit it behind the rear seats. Let me see you do that with the Toyota model. It needs another coat of paint, but I wanted to show you the unpainted parts.

Parts used:

16” wide paint grade furniture panel from Lowes

2 sets of gate hinges

2 sets of gate latch posts

Primer black paint

36 - 1”x 1/4” x 20 bolts with washers and nuts. (No I didn’t bust any nuts)

Volume added 57"x16"x17" = 15 504 cubic inch = 0.332 304 526 75 cubic yard.

Doncaster Railway Station, South Yorkshire.

The Great Northern Railway built the platforms of Doncaster station in 1877, but the modest Art Deco entrance building was a 1933 London & North Eastern Railway design. The canopy in front of this building had been modified in an unsympathetic style, and it was replaced by a lighter and extended version in 2019. The station is listed Grade ll.

This is a photograph from the starts of both races in the 7th annual Longwood Village 10KM and 5KM Road Races and Fun Runs which were held in Longwood Village, Longwood, Co. Meath, Ireland on Sunday 23rd October 2016 at 11:00. The races are held annually to support the development of the local GAA club while also supporting local charities. The race has support from Trim AC which sees the race have full AAI premit status. These races have grown steadily over the years and this year almost 400 participants to part in the two races. This is an impressive statistic given that a very large number of local runners will be preparing for the Dublin City marathon 7 days from now. However both races provide marathon runners and all other runners, joggers and walkers with an ideal opportunity to race on a very fair course in a beautiful rural setting. Barry Clarke of Longwood GAA and Trim AC and his very large group of volunteers deserve the highest of praise for the very high standard of organisation immediately apparent to anyone taking part in the race. Overall the whole day was a great success with the hard work put in by the organising committee ensuring that participants enjoyed their race experience. Both routes were accurately measured, kilometer points clearly marked, junctions well stewarded, and electronic timing provided. The event provided many local runners, joggers, fun runners and walkers with a local event to support whilst at the same time providing runners preparing for events such as the Dublin marathon with an opportunity to race a short, fast, distance in the lead up to marathon day. The GAA club provided excellent stewarding and traffic management all around the course. The race had a professional feel to it and it is sure to grow next year given the very positive feedback from many of the participants today. The weather didn't exactly play ball with some heavy showers of rain for both races. However this didn't do anything to dampen the atmosphere of the race.

We have an extensive set of photographs from all of the races today in the following Flickr Album: www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/albums/72157672030705623

Longwood is a small village in South East Co. Meath and is close to the town of Enfield with access to the M4 Motorway. The weather was almost perfect for road running. A beautiful crisp autumn morning with dry cool conditions. 5KM Course: The 5KM started in Longwood village. Runners then took a left turn in the Village down St. Oliver's Road. This straight section of road brings runners to a left turn onto a very well maintained boreen road for less than one kilometer. The race then emerges and joins with the 10KM at Stoneyford where the runners take a left and then another left before arriving back at the finish line in Longwood GAA club. Overall this is a very fast and flat 5KM with no hills to speak of.

10KM Course: The 10KM event begins in Longwood Village outside Dargan's Pub and proceeds westward out of the village. There are some interesting points along this part of the course. At the 2KM point the runners will run under the double bridges - an aquaduct for the Royal Canal and a bridge carrying the Dublin Sligo Railway line. The race then enters county Kildare just before the 3km and after taking a right turn at the four-cross roads known locally as Lally's Cross it returns to County Meath on top of the River Boyne Bridge (Ashfield Bridge) which forms the county boundary. The race follows a straight road for the next 2KM until runners encounter Blackshade bridge which is the toughest climb on the route. As a point of interest Blackshade bridge brings runners back over the Royal Canal and the Railway line. The race then crosses the River Boyne again at Stoneyford before taking a right which will bring runners on a testing two kilometer stretch with some short hills. The 10KM course then joins with the 5Km course for the final 1.5KM back to Longwood GAA club for the finish.

If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

Basics of Establishing Wireless Networking

Wireless networking is as brand-new as a decade or two and the level to which it has actually spread out today clearly shows the benefits and also possible it holds for the future. To start with, networking prevailed among computer systems of several organizations as well as government bodies over the last century. But this was wired networking as well as held several troubles if new systems needed to be contributed to an existing network.

Extending the immigration transition period, improving compact impact reimbursement, and focusing federal resources on energy costs in the insular areas are among the issues addressed in S. 1237, the Omnibus Territories Act. Territorial Delegates Eni Faleomavaega (D-American Samoa), Donna Christensen (D-U.S. Virgin Islands), Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-Guam), Pedro R. Pierluisi (D-Puerto Rico) and I all testified before the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee on the bill. Senators Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Energy and Natural Resources Committee Chairman and Ranking Member, respectively, introduced S. 1237 at the request of the Delegates as a companion to H.R. 2200, which I have introduced in the House of Representatives. The omnibus bills are intended to move territorial issues through Congress without the partisan entanglement that sometimes blocks progress.
