Express delivery, 12 bore shotgun cartridge I found in a old box from a boot sale, it's been sitting in my shed for 4 years and now I have used it as a photographic prop.
Just shows it's good not to throw everything out ... you never know when it may come in handy?
The Macro Mondays theme this week is .... "Danger" ..... I should image this would be classed as a danger especially if you hit the top ..... "Boom" ......
I hate guns and shooting, but love nature in all its forms, I would dislike anyone who would shoot poor innocent animals especially with a shotgun ..... all those pellets damaging or wounding our poor wildlife etc.
Love nature and it will certainly love you back, feed the wild birds, get repayment with their singing, their pest control, their beautiful presence.
Oh' yes I nearly forgot ..... a lovely warning feeling in your Heart for being kind, nothing feels better.
Love & Peace everyone!!!!

When you are saving precious resources on license fees and metal then you can afford to indulge in a real life livery to make up for other shortfalls!
The plastic bodied and generic Matchbox Express Delivery, though almost certainly Grumman-Olson based, now gets this wonderful new NASA branding and for me it might just be its best recolour yet and thats saying something considering how many this casting has been given over the years. Ive long since accepted its transition from metal to plastic and stayed loyal to this casting as it remains very crisp in its appearance and ultimately very believable in its design. Its crude opening rear cargo doors remain as well as the much needed chrome disc wheels.
Will this be the start of some more NASA themed models from Matchbox? Sourced recently from the U.S. as part of the latest E Case. Mint and boxed.

The town of Mocksville raced into the Christmas season with the 5th Annual “Twas the Night Before” Bed Race, and Trailers of the East Coast was well represented, sponsoring two of the 20 race teams who made the mad dash down Main Street.
B-52G 57-6489 'Express Delivery' was retired to AMARG as AABC0343 during March 1990 and subsequently scrapped. Fortunately her noseart survived and is now on display at the wonderful NMSAF.
I actually wished there were able to be more examples on display, from different eras and planes, i.e., B-17s & B-29s but who could have thought to save them at the time. The panel is enclosed in a glass case with lots of reflections, so the shot isn't great quality.

There are just a small amount of Matchbox generic models which are genuinely appealing and I class the Express Delivery van as one of them. It has been made of plastic for most of its life so I'm guessing most collectors have accepted that especially when there are so few realistic looking vans in the range. This Elite Robo Mechanics version appeared in late 2015 and can still be found in certain Morrisons stores. Mint and boxed.
Being plastic and generic is normally a recipe for diecast disaster but thankfully the Matchbox Express Delivery has managed to avoid such pitfalls. You'd be hard pressed to tell its body was made of plastic just by looking at it, in fact you might even not think it was generic either on first sight. It resembles the types of vans used by UPS for example, some of which are even active here in the U.K. Styled for maximum loading capability rather than aesthetics its overly boxy shape looks good here especially in this very clean looking licensed NASA livery. Maybe its best recolour yet?
Part of Case E sourced recently directly from the U.S. Mint and boxed.

Cheapened even further for 2020 with its previously opening rear cargo door now cast shut to go along with its all plastic body which appeared several years ago. As Matchbox generics go the Express Delivery is up there as being some of their most believable in terms of design. Part of Case B which I had to source from abroad due to Tesco continuing to put out Case A time and time again. Mint and boxed.

Well into 2016 and these Elite Robo Mechanics liveried Express Delivery Matchbox vans can be found in large quantities in both Poundland and Poundworld but when I bought this example back in January 2016 they weren't too easy to find with only Morrisons and occasionally Tesco coming up with the goods. New batch Matchbox availability has decreased even further since then as Tesco pulled out of Matchbox and replaced them with Majorette. The model itself is one of those generic plastic Matchbox models you don't mind seeing as it has always impressed with its crisp square cut styling, well cast body and attractive wheels. Mint and boxed.

With its rear door now cast shut there can't be much more left of this casting to cheapen! Otherwise, a nicely cast and entirely believable Matchbox generic seen here in its very latest 2021 recolour. Mint and boxed.

The acceptable face of Matchbox generic castings is their Express Delivery step van though perhaps not its plastic construction! Penny pinching the brand to oblivion but at least the casting is crisp and nicely set off with those chrome disc wheels. Van models really need to feature more prominantely in the Matchbox line up, the promotional liveries alone would make it worth their while. This one came from Poundland who still have some of this pretty old batch on their pegs in U.S. long cards.
Mint and boxed.
