Completed in 1914, the outer piers (or pier extensions) were added to the main piers to reduce the swell in the main harbour.
Sunlight, shadows and the sea.
And your eyes and brain cope with it without you even noticing (most of the time).
The human eye can adapt to a massive range of light intensities, from very dim to extremely bright, allowing it to perceive a dynamic contrast ratio of about 1,000,000:1
Dynamic Range vs. Contrast:
While often used interchangeably, dynamic range refers to the amount of tonal information a camera can capture, while contrast refers to the difference between the brightest and darkest parts of an image.

This is my first lens capped / swapped miniaturization and it would not have been possible if it was not for Fade to Black, who I am incredibly grateful to for helping me learn some epic in camera trickery. Cheers, Tim! I am really pleased with how this has turned out :) - required minimal editing - it was all done in camera.
Holga multi exposure experiments. Using an ND4 + Yellow and Ilford FP4 I was able to do 7-10 multiple exposures on each frame. I spent a couple of hours one afternoon walking around my local town of Ipswich trying to find subjects that might work. The Holga is really hard to re-align as the finder is pretty hit and miss. I might try adding some small dots to the finder to see if that helps get things a little closer.

Suddenly the temperature dropped and the daylight seemed to swirl away into an indistinct, fog-like darkness. At the same time the air was torn apart by a frantic whirring sound, like a thousand grinding gear-wheels suffused by furious rushes of steam. Tiny arcs of purple lightning began to crackle through the aether as a great electrical wind twisted the air into some sort of strange, other-worldly vortex. As the very fabric of reality itself seemed to spin away into oblivion, I stared in horror at the centre of that churning maelstrom, where, piece by piece, the terrible apparition slowly materialised. Was this the vanguard of the evil Dr. Fulgurite's long threatened Clockwork Army? or something more terrifying even than that...
No. It was just a nice, friendly man in a steampunk costume that I chatted to during a visit to the Victorian Brickworks Museum at Bursledon. His name is Steve.

Usual caveats and all that.
I'm off to see Nick Cave tonight in Cardiff with my daughters Rebecca and Jennifer. It should be great fun and a. bit of light relief after last night's American election drama. Skeleton Tree is by Nick cave. This was some of the Glynneath Waterfalls in flood. Often I prefer the smaller falls .

After a foggy failed attempt at sunrise yesterday, long time friend and fellow flickr photographer Joe Micallef and I tried our hand at a late morning session of seascapes at Burwood Beach, NSW; Australia.
This coincided nicely with a run-out tide and allowed us to make the most of the conditions that presented once the fog had burnt off!
Hope you like this effort!!
Have a great day and week folks!!
Thanks too for any comments, views or favorites for this (or any of my other) image/s!

I had an easy day yesterday after all the driving, so just popped down to Elgol for a few long exposures. I also took some shots for possible Timelapse's. This morning I plan to go to Sligachan and wander up to the ridge, we'll see. Typical I popped the ice axe in on the off chance of snow, but didn't imagine I may need crampons. Haunted Eyes is by Joseph Arthur, and the wind yesterday certainly made my eyes tired, if not haunted.
