These days I can rely on the camera vibration reduction and shoot 1/4 or 1/3 seconds exposure handheld.

Shortest exposure time with Minolta XM 1/2.000 sec.

Long exposure photography can be challenging at times. The lighting, timing and just how long the exposure, can make a huge difference in the outcome.

Erosion has exposed this tree's roots, but quite a while ago and it doesn't seem bothered! This always looked quite interesting but it isn't easy to get into a Milky Way shot! 5 shot vertical pano with extra lighting from 2 flashes and the moon. Near the Cazneaux Tree, near Wilpena Pound.

Just a bit of an odd result from using my zoom lens for a long exposure photo.

Long exposure on this lake in Glacier National Park. Pretty scene there between these trees.

Not too long after this the sky opened up and it rained. Hope the guys out on the sailing boat didn't get too wet.

The constantly and rapidly changing weather is a feature of life at an altitude of over 2000m on the edge of the Himalaya. After a sunny afternoon yet another thunder storm passed overhead on this night. These storms are a regular occurrence in this part of the Dhauladhar Range.

This was shot from the balcony of my guesthouse room in the small town of Bhagsu Nag, just behind Mcleodganj.

About the only way to photograph Durdle Door without people is to use a long time exposure...... But I kept the dog at the foot of the steps! Lee Big Stopper used here but it was a pain as three different colleges / schools groups marking out rocks and sections in the beach, there were hard hats in white blue and green buzzing around, I had hoped it would be quiet in a weekday - some hope. Will have to visit another time and try a late night shoot too.

The opening of the "Diverse Perspectives" photographic exhibition happened at the Central Bank Cultural building in Rio de Janeiro. See my pictures below.
