A Brown-capped Pygmy Woodpecker (Dendrocopos nanus) was tasting its success after exploring long between the twigs and branches of trees. The success was a caterpillar hidden beneath the soft twig. I was chasing the action between trees and finally I also met the success from close with the perfect frame! Pics was taken from Dehradoon, India.

You Flickr members are responsible for this image of mine entering Explore at number 1. I never imaged it would have the impact it has had. I am humbled, thank you.
At the weekend a photographer friend told me that she didn't like my 'ghost' shots, but I find them fun to take because they can be challenging when you are on your own! This image is far from technically correct but then again I don't take images to compete, I do it for the smile it puts on my face.
Many of you will already know that this is Bád Eddie, or Eddie's Boat in English. I have visited the wreck twice and both times the weather has not been helpful. I know that sky could be dramatically improved with Photoshop but I don't use it so this will have to do.
The story says that Eddie ran his boat aground and walked away in frustration due to a nasty divorce, never to return to the boat. When I wade around that beautiful wreck I always feel that part of him is still there. He was Eddie, I am Eddie, hence the ghost, it's a bit of fun :-)
My oldest son Sam graduated from Purdue this weekend. A proud moment for us all. Here he is in his cap and gown giving his younger brother a pre commencement bear hug. I think we have the Christmas photo taken care of!

**EXPLORED** I made this in memory of the lives lost on 9/11. I cannot believe it has been 8 years since the attack on the World Trade Centers. It seems like just yesterday.
If you have not yet taken a moment of silence to remember those who lost their lives, I am asking that you please do.
Pray for the families who lost someone.
Pray for medical personel who risked their lives.
Pray for the United States.
You ever have one of those days that are a mix of good and bad and you really aren't sure what to feel? Thats how I feel somedays...
You might wonder why there is so many pictures of that bald guy today in the Interestingness. This is an initiative of the flickr@paris group : getting as many photos of the same item in Explore on the day as possible. The item being their beloved and megalomaniac leader : philippe leroyer (who actually wrote this little text). If you want to participate in that initiative, just comment and fave this picture (and the other ones that you'll find). Let's see how far we can go here !

"I don't know if I've come of age, but I'm certainly older now. I feel shrunken, as if there's a tiny ancient me inside me operating the levers of a life-size self-shaped shell. A shell on which a decrepit picture show replays the same handful of images.

I took this picture after a nice hiking tour on Mount Pilatus in Lucerne, Switzerland.
I used a 10 stop ND filter to get the water of the river as smooth and flat as possible.
The Story
This mother and cub (child) was passing by while we was doing some climatic research in the Fram Straight. I think the scene was a bit interesting with the birds in the background. The colors up here is really special. The Polar Bear is the biggest of all bears. This day we saw 19 of them. This mother and cub was close to a big male bear. That is unusual to see. The male Polar Bear is known of killing the cubs so he can get the mother interested in him. But nothing happened, not as long as we was there.

This picture was taken in Dungeness, which is a place you can't really explain until you have been there!
Dungeness is full of nothing .... yet so much! It is the most barron beach I have ever been to, but hidden amongst the beach are so many abandoned items. Most people would call it junk, but when you come across boats like this, next to the old tracks that have not been used for years, you can really feel and imagine how 'alive' this place would have been back when it was full of fishermen. I would recommend a trip to Dungeness to anyone, but don't judge a book by it's cover .... read into it and you will find gems like this!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting, this picture was my 1st picture to get on explore! :)

Art Quote of the Day
Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.
Oscar Wilde mentioned and I nodded:)
