The pre-departure orientation for new TEA participants was held on January 7 at the Embassy's Information Resource Center.
Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program (TEA) brings international secondary level teachers of English, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), social studies, math, or science to the United States for a six-week professional development program.
This program provides Cambodian teachers with unique opportunities to develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills, and increase their knowledge of the United States.

Can you find the toad? He blends in VERY well. I think it's an American Toad, (Anaxyrus americanus) but feel free to correct me!
Discovered along the Hurricane Mountain Trail. This 7-mile round-trip hike (11.25 km) starts from the Route 9N Trailhead, and ends at the fire tower summit, with a 2000 foot ascent (610 meters).

This photograph was conceived on the basis of the model of a smartphone application which will identify the dragonflies (realized J. Gloor, January 2017). The photograph makes it possible to visualize a user of the application in action. We can guess a dragonfly on a leaf in the background. The interest of this photograph lies in the marriage between nature and technology.
The screen of the smartphone visible in the photograph shows the model of an application in progress at the High School of Landscape, Engineering and Architecture. It will allow the user to identify the dragonflies using simple criteria accessible to the general public. It will also offer itineraries of walks with observation points of dragonflies. This app will be available for free on Android and iOS. This application addresses the challenges of popularization of science and technology. Translating scientists' expertise in terms of identification and lifestyle of dragonflies is a difficult but enriching exercise for both scientists and the general public. The IT support thanks to its flexibility and modularity makes it possible to have in its pocket an efficient and playful tool. It also makes it possible to use a flexible and reliable approach called "multi-access" with which the user can choose his "path" among the different identification criteria and avoid blockages which are particularly disheartening for the general public. ¦ Image#3_86

The four Calder Hall cooling towers, located at the world’s first industrial-scale nuclear power plant, are 88 metres tall and will generate more than 20,000 tonnes of debris. It will take 192 kilograms of explosives and shrewd demolition engineering to make this Blowdown a success. Mark Loizeaux and his team hustle to load the towers, major symbols of the United Kingdom’s industrial heritage.
The first reactor at the Calder Hall plant was opened by Queen Elizabeth II in 1956. The plant's four 50 MWe Magnox reactors not only generated electricity, they also produced weapons-grade plutonium. The generators produced for 47 years before ceasing operations in March 2003.
