An experiment with expired film

Shot on PC 400 (President's Choice), a supermarket branded film from The Real Canadian Superstore, unknown expiry, rated at ISO/ASA 100. The canister says product of the Netherlands, but from the DX code 005783, this appears to be Fujicolor Superia 400.

Since this roll of film was expired, I decided to experiment with the developing process, so I soaked or "souped" the film in orange pekoe tea with lemon for 14 hours before developing. By accident, I had not twisted and locked the developing tank all the way, so after the developer, the tank top came off as I was pouring out the water used to wash/stop the developer; however, I don't think this affected the outcome much.

I can see a bit of red in some shots, but all other colours were washed off. I might try again, even with fresh film, and less time in the soup, with possibly other "cooking" ingredients.

An experiment - and a short break from the gloom of the winter Gormleys ...

I recently found an interesting link on *kday*'s page to the Orton technique. It looked like a nice soft effect so I thought I'd give it a go. I know I haven't got it quite right yet, but I think it might be worth experimenting more.

But I'm still not sure ...

What do you think?

.

... I downloaded this free texture a few days ago and forgot where I found it. If you recognize your texture... please tell me so I can give you the credits for it :-)

In my quest for a more realistic look I can find myself being a little self defeating.

In this instance and with the whole growing my own hair experiment I have noticed that I have aged a lot. OK not that bad I know and we all age. But with a full wig and full makeup I can look 40 something as opposed to looking 50 something .

I know that's vanity playing its part. the question is at what point do I revert back to wig and makeup? if I don't then how do I move forward especially in the hair department.

would hormones help and if so is that going to change who I am. If I go down that route am I heading for a permanent change. how do I go about it??????

Questions questions.

Have a nice Friday and a super joyful weekend my dear friends!

Red and white vapor clouds filled the skies over the Marshall Islands as part of NASA’s Equatorial Vortex Experiment (EVEX). The red cloud was formed by the release of lithium vapor and the white tracer clouds were formed by the release of trimethyl aluminum (TMA). These clouds allowed scientists on the ground from various locations in the Marshall Islands to observe the neutral winds in the ionosphere.

---

The Equatorial Vortex Experiment (EVEX) was successfully conducted during the early morning hours (eastern time) May 7 from Roi Namur, Republic of the Marshall Islands. A NASA Terrier-Oriole sounding rocket was launched at 3:39 a.m. EDT and was followed by a launch of Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket 90 seconds later. Preliminary indications are that both rockets released their vapor clouds of lithium or trimethyl aluminum, which were observed from various locations in the area, and all science instruments on the rockets worked as planned. More information on EVEX can be found at www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sounding-rockets/news/evex.html

These were the second and third rockets of four planned for launch during this year’s campaign in the Marshall Islands. The first and fourth rockets are supporting the Metal Oxide Space Cloud experiment (MOSC), which is studying radio frequency propagation.

I just wanted to see what Erin looked like with midnight blue hair x)

After several years of playing with a Lensbaby Spark and struggling to control the effect, I finally succumbed to purchasing a composer and a couple of optics. I’m totally in love with effect on florals and close-ups and am excitedly looking onward to further experimentation!

This one is the third and last picture from the Mushroom-Experiment yesterday.

Experimenting with black and white again :) I am amazed how many things that you can do in BW!
