I'm conducting iPhone app experiments... I'll get back to you with specific apps since I don't remember all their names (so don't judge me too harshly)! :P

Just trying out things including dimensional glassy coating (can't tell here cause its so clear) ... lol.
José Abisai and José Alberto were weeding a
conservation agriculture soy field in the wee
hours of the morning when they were joined
by this worm, which they had never seen
before, at the Campo Experimental Norman
E. Borlaug (CENEB), Mexico. When this worm
appeared at the conservation agriculture
field, they took a photo and named it
‘conservation worm.’

The largest model I took to the event was my DPRK ballistic missile train. It is scaled to 1/40, like my aircraft models. Several people expressed surprise at its size. However, as LEGO builders, we are accustomed to seeing LEGO trains that generally are somewhat undersized compared to LEGO minifigures, so that they fit on manageable layouts.
This experimental frame from Veldisfall Land Systems, code named Basilisk, never made it further than an initial test build. The tail system proved inefficient, and while some of the frame’s more interesting design choices (notably, the digitigrade ankle) found uses elsewhere, this frame is considered a dead end.
The build is another riff on the the legs from LEGO 7's alternate 31032 red dragon model. The legs are modified slightly from the original, the C403o and the C213o. My goal was to retain the general shaping and aesthetic without totally breaking 7P scale. Unfortunately, the frame is out of scale in every dimension.

Here we see the Brick Railway Systems version of the experimental Aerotrain (temporarily re-named the Mark Twain Flyer while under Brick Railway Systems service) speeding past the St. Louis-bound Meramec River Runner at the the West Barretts Tunnels near noon sometime in September 1957.
The Mark Twain Flyer (AKA the General Motors Aerotrain) has just left St. Louis Union Station and is headed for the terminus in Denver, Colorado, which it should be there by the next morning.
The Meramec River Runner (also owned by Brick Railway Systems), though, is in the final stretch from Kansas City to St. Louis, Missouri, and it will travel back to Kansas City the next day.
(In the real world, this scene never happened. The Barretts Station tunnels are single track and were disused by 1944 via a double track cut through a couple hundred feet to the south of the tunnels. The Mark Twain Flyer never existed because Brick Railway Systems is fictional. This also mean the Meramec River Runner isn't real either. HOWEVER: The inspiration for this steam led train is based off of The Missouri River Runner run by Amtrak, which does run by this location daily. It starts at St. Louis and runs to Kansas City before returning later via the same route later on in the day... which is exactly the same as my train.
The Aerotrain really existed as two sets built as a ten car permanently-coupled train. It was used by my partial inspiration for Brick Railway Systems: Union Pacific (among other roads) as a testing bed for the innovative (yet a complete failure as a product) train. Union Pacific now own the track that runs trough Barretts Station, and one of the Aerotrains (well, the cab car and two passenger cars) rests at the Museum of Transportation at the same location as the West tunnel.
Also: I picked the date (September 1957) because that's the month / year my inspiration as a builder, best (and sometimes worst) friend, plus a great many other things: my father, was born.
This one's for you Dad!
Shadow Pavilion is a temporary experimental installation by U-M Taubman College professor Karl Daubmann in collaboration with John Marshall. The project is an extension from a graduate studio course. It utilizes computer-generated architectural forms inspired by organic models to design site-specific structures that maximize utility while minimizing material and waste. This botanical-inspired structure was designed for this overlook on the Sam Graham Trees Trail. It frames the vista for visitors while providing both shade and a visual destination that orients people to the view point. Construction was assisted by graduate students Ngoc Thy Phan and Alex Timmer with construction volunteers Craig Borum, Peggy Chong, Jen Maigret, Jessica Mattson, Katie Santer, Dwight Song and Alex Watanabe. This project was made possible by a Research-through-Making grant from Taubman College at the University of Michigan and the U-M Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.
