Go upstairs to the first floor and stroll through the rooms of the palace. The original furnishings and pieces of furniture offer an interesting insight into the aristocratic past of the palace.
About four years ago, I shot a massive job for Expedia which took me to about ten prefectures in a couple of weeks. Covering about 4000kms in the car.
Zenkōji is a wonderful and expansive shrine complex in Nagano and this view of it, from a bend in the road that takes you out towards Togakushiki, is one of the best.

Three years ago today, Romeo left this realm, but never from my heart. The unbreakable bond we shared remains.
We met in 2005, when my life was shaped by fear and trauma. From the start, his calm presence – even his 3 a.m. Bengal serenades – brought light into the dark. Romeo became more than a companion: he was my anchor, my muse (mews), my healer. He helped me stay grounded, especially away from home, and his love gave me the strength to care for myself — and eventually, others. Because of him, I began rescuing Bengals, supporting fellow pet guardians as well as reclaiming my creative voice through photography.
Though he became a bit of a media star, his true magic was connection; the quiet way he brought people together, both online and in person.
The pandemic gave us something rare: uninterrupted time together. Those quiet days with Romeo and his brother Kieran have become even more precious since their passing; a gift I didn’t know I’d need. I only just finished editing a photo from that time – Romeo, poised like a leopard, serene and strong. Maybe I hadn’t been ready to face it until now. It captures everything he was to me.
To those who followed our journey and loved him from afar: thank you. Your kindness still carries me.
Romeo changed my life the moment we met. His love is in every breath, every memory, every quiet space he once filled. Always with me. Always loved… forever.

I walk up the steep steps lined with Buddha statues and each one looks different. I take a picuture of these 18 Arhats and from here I am almost getting to the temples. This is another place of worship I recommend for a visit if you are in Hong Kong.
