*sigh* finishing up all these shots is making me so nostalgic!
this is from the cancun creativity workshop, which was already 10 days ago! seems like just yesterday i was splashing around at the beach... just one more photo to finish up from mexico city, a couple weddings, and then i declare self portrait time!
in other news, this photo is a huge reminder of how much more i personally have to learn. it took me forever to try and get a working color scheme on this one! and i still wish id done many things differently here. hopefully in another 2 years ill be better. :P also i apologize for how boring i am with my framing right now... haha.

For a long time he sat there, pondering and praying. He knew he had seen the Spirit of Jesus alive and thriving in this poor boy. It was one of those precious moments that carried him to the core of what life is all about.

This is the first place i ever got scared of losing my camera. This is the place i used the live view feature more than the view finder. Also this is the first place that exceeded my expectations in terms of photography. Welcome to the Palouse falls. With a drop of 200 feet and canyon walls reaching heights of 400 feet, Palouse Falls State Park offers wonderful views provided you don't have Acrophobia.
I took this shot of the lower falls with the tripod just couple of inches away from the cliff. The camera would have swept away easily with a sudden wind in any direction. I am usually not frightened of heights but it was bit scary looking at the falls standing at the edge. That said you have to really experience it to appreciate it.

E' un periodo di intenso lavoro e di impegni che purtroppo mi costringe a non poter avere il piacere di essere qui.
Anche se questo non è propriamente il mio genere fotografico, mi sono cimentato con grande onore e piacere in questa bella iniziativa e nella realizzazione di questo calendario che è ormai una realtà consolidata ed attesa puntualmente ogni anno.
La serata della presentazione del calendario è fissata per domenica 9 Agosto, patrocinata dal comune di Agropoli (SA) e si svolgerà nel suggestivo castello medievale di Agropoli(SA) con inizio alle 21,30.
L' ingresso è gratuito e oltre alla presentazione degli scatti del calendario e del backstage, nei vari angoli del castello , si svolgeranno coreografie, scenografie spettacoli di danza a tema e naturalmente... champagne, frutta, degustazione di vini cocktails...ecc.
E' inutile dire che avrei piacere di potervi ritrovare e incontrare in questa, che sembra proprio prospettarsi una bella e simpatica nottata!

This is a period of intense work and commitments that I have to unfortunately not able to have the pleasure to be here.
Although this is not exactly my kind photography, I have grappled with great honor and pleasure in this great initiative and organization of this calendar which is now a reality and expectations every year.
The evening of the presentation of the calendar is set for Sunday, August 9, sponsored by the town of Agropoli (SA) and will take place in the beautiful medieval castle of Agropoli (SA) starting at 21.30.
The entrance is free and in addition to presentation of the calendar shots and backstage, at the various corners of the castle, will take place choreography, set designs dance theme and of course ... champagne, fruit, wine tasting cocktails ... etc..
It is needless to say that I pleased to be able to find and meet in this one, which seems to contemplate a beautiful and nice night!

This one is taken with a flash, bouncing from a DIY softbox / reflector. It’s been a while since I’ve touched my flash but I intend on using them more often to improve my lighting skills.
Today is the start of a new year at the university, who knows what it might bring :)

Held onto this one for a decade because I could never get the colors quite right...happy enough with it...
I've got three rolls of film sitting on my desk as we speak, taunting me. One of these days I'll get back to the lab, see what's on these little rascals, but I also enjoy moving farther and farther away from whatever expectations I had for them. Barely even remembering which people I shot.
The scans will come back and it'll be like Hanukkah, surprise gifts, all benefiting from me no longer remembering what I was trying to do.
The joy of no longer being attached to expectations.

Here is another photo focusing on the anti bullying series I am in the middle of working on. It is based off of the impression society places on teens to be some sort of "perfect." We wanted to do this to show that life is beyond the media, and their expectations. So yeah heres that and check out my facebook page for more details!
Anyways, It finally snowed here in Minden, Nv! The weather is freezing for the rest of the season and I cant wait to go out and take some shots in the snow! I already have a few ideas Ill be trying next time it starts to storm. Flickr mail me! I miss you guys!

Many great expectations are turning into disappointments these days. It only seems logical, that the announced great comet show next month seems to fizzle as well.
Comet ATLAS C/2019 Y4 was expected to become a naked eye object next month and some sources even said it might become visible during daylight.
Unfortunately comets are very unreliable guys and this one seems to follow the path of many predecessors that did not live up to their promise.
I showed the comet to my kids during the night of the 4./5. April and, as I already had my equipment set up, I decided to capture a short sequence, in spite of the bright moon in the sky.
Little did I know that the next night this cosmic visitor would start to show signs of disintegration and drop quite considerably in brightness. It still is not certain yet which course the comet will take, but chances are high that it will not become the great show that many of us were hoping for.
