"So this was it finally, the first part of the Hedy Patrucci’s Burlesque Show, long awaited and blanketed like the final training before a cup final. Hedy had invited her premiere guests to the Lyrics Ballroom, and the place was totally draped in matching decorations. After the big success she gained last year with her 2019 show, expectations were high for her this year’s show. And Hedy and her team delivered! – The costumes were glamorous, the dance acts fabulous and the different sets where creative and well chosen.
It was an extremely captivating show and best entertainment in SL. Though SL had its hick ups this evening for many, it couldn’t really harm the shining success of the evening. The enthusiastic applause at the end of the show was very well deserved.
Congratulations to Hedy and her team!"

This is the final performance SUNDAY 13 SEPTEMBER @ 12PM SLT, full production of professional dancers in Second Life with Hedy Patrucci singing live from The Netherlands
Hedy's performance at the opening night was nothing more than sensational!
She was truly sizzling on stage - and is truly an entertainer in every sense of the word.
Those that attended loved it and she had the audience captivated and dying of laughter with her seductive version of Dr Long John -
All the ladies are booked to see Dr Long John after hearing Hedy sing this song in her unique and brilliant way!
Every song she sang was a masterpiece - combine that with her humor - her tease - really this last performance of Burlesque should not be missed!
Last but not least, the Burlesque Dancers were absolutely sensational and our choreographer Faith Fromund is fantastic!
So blessed and proud to have these incredibly talented and professional artists in my life! Thank you each and everyone of you
A Special mention to Chandra @ !dM DeviousMind - the headdress and feathers come from this store, the creator Chandra is just wonderful and played a huge role in the wardrobe with her stunning costumes.
Lucky door prizes to be won!
Dress it up in Burlesque or wear cocktail or formal.
I have created a "memento gift box" of this special event.
They can be found on the tables in front of the bar, also dining tables are located along the runway for front row view - you will find the gift on these tables, also on the posters either side of the stage.
Come along, bring your friends to the best event in Second Life!
The excitement is real! A new adventure soon ... ❤

I decided to use the 50mm lens I have sitting in my bag gathering dust. I must say that I should trade it in for a 35mm lens.
We all have expectations, be it the farmer who believes with proper care that his crops will grow or the promise that there is light beyond the clouds.
My niece enjoys the Christmas tree after decorating it together with me last night
Now the floor is filled with presents, the Christmas dinner is cooking, and I am ready to celebrate Christmas Eve together with my parents, siblings, their spouses and adorable children ♡
Enjoy your Christmas Eve! 🎄

MONSTER MASH – BOBBY “BORIS” PICKETT
A TALE FOR HALLOWE'EN
Haunted by the past
shadow weavers spin a grisly path
bloodshed ripened by the burning laughter
cackling; cawing birds with blackened plumage
sit amongst the great oaks circled like ancient stones
pondering; deliberating;
coaxing thoughts from secret innocent brains
spitting; spilling intestinal,
twisted columns like engorged worms
emerge from rounded tors
where tombstones fall in all their lost directions
point like arrows to distance lands
where once they came on voyages bound
for incoming tides; lapping
and supping like thirsty dogs worked on the lands
salting sea dogs; march like Marsh frogs; croaking;
encroaching in their hordes
green as slime from slurry pits
and stinking; stench invading nostrils;
hopping crops to miss the circles where creatures from
another realm have mystified the hoi polloi for centuries;
eventually the stories fell to urban myths
and historic notions hid the truth
that Hallowe'en is an intelligent invention;
an intervention to prevent our troubled pasts
from catching up on us and suffocating slowly all our pre-conditioned thoughts
and cognitive behavioural patterns,
yet still we seek the darkness on this, some say, sacred night
and others hide within their homesteads;
sprinkled salt to every step and window sill;
they sit in fear in dim-lit candlelight;
ready to be blown out at any given moment
when chance or fate brings strangers thereabouts
to wrap sharply on the knockers on their wooden doors
and as they shiver beneath the old iron bedstead
and scrunch their eyes tight shut;
a primal squeeze of distant recognition
springs sharply piercing to their memories
and all the compartmental little shutters laying dormant
within their harrowed minds; awaken now; stir times
from ancient burial grounds where stones rock in their cradles
deep beneath the earth;
disinterred they fall and crash like thunder;
splintering marble; splicing names and dates
that once meant something to someone,
now crumble as the dead rise up again
and those who knock on doors
come laughing like rag tag beggars seeking all you have
DON'T hide; that is the very worst thing you can do;
unlock your doors and beckon them inside
offer sweets and cookies; treats; avoid the tricking;
that trickery; magical menacing personified
they come with intent to rob your larder,
but better that than leave them all outside
for some of us it has no other meaning
than a little fun on one night of the year
but for others of us gathering on the hillside;
cloaked and daggered; hand in hand we bide
chanting words from long-lost civilisations
that sound so gutteral;
bitten by the wind and burning fire
we circle round and round it, cold and muttering;
giving thanks that we will all survive our ancestors
some of whom were burned here,
on stakes for all the villagers to see
will rise at witching hour;
between the hours of three and four's a given
and we will see them all again
and speak of all the ways of the now living
As witches we can make things far better or far worse
but the one thing we are good at is to curse
you'll find us often around the cauldron
stirring and talking generally in verse
a pinch of this; a pinch of that
it all goes in the pot
it simmers for a good long while
don't drink it when it's hot
but leave to stew
and know that you
will benefit from this broth
don't let greed be your guide
a little will suffice
a sip of this; a sip of that
Ah! Hallowe'en is so nice …

Early evening; a wild viburnum (I think) cluster just starting to bloom.

金漢星楡冷 stars were twinkling calmly in the galaxy,
銀河月桂秋 laurels were blooming in the moon.
靈姿理雲鬂 the weaver girl dressed up,
仙駕度潢流 and she started to meet the cowherd from the end of the space.
窈窕鳴衣玉 rustling sounds of her silk was like an jewel,
玲瓏映彩舟 she sparkled by her expectations on the bright ship.
所悲明日夜 but now she feels very sadness because he can't live together anymore,
誰慰別離憂 no one can solace her grief of parting.

I went with the expectations of picking up stars after the sun went down, but I liked this shot better.I used a little artificial light to highlight the top of the tree but the rest of the light was from the moon! I hope you enjoyed the sun while it was here!
It appears that one of my seahorses is expecting - you can see his (yes "his" - its a seahorse thing) baby bulge..

Remember, our conduct is influenced not by our experience but by our expectations.
George Bernard Shaw
.

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I spotted this girl with the 'unrealistic' woman on her mobile phone case and a magical juxtaposition - sadly my juxtaposition vanished and hid behind my subject. I still like the shot and the beauty of street shooting is that so much of it is outside of your control. Enjoy!
