Yes, I know about "how cute" and "who can resist?" We had her over a couple of times and she does know us. Even more, she seems to see us as part of her family. In fact, I believe that she regards herself as a "child" belonging to a family of humans. She made it perfectly clear that she has certain expectations in terms of participating in our social life, eating our kind of food - almost asking for equality and fair play. Now my question is, how does evolution work in this case? Did dogs evolve to bond with humans? Did humans develop affinity to dogs? Or, is there a process of mutual co-evolution or even co-assimilation?

Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. Do you think that the pigeons can read? Expecting a nice selection of biscuits? Enjoy!
This is fireweed that has started to bloom. It is a weed but also a very beautiful flower that is prevalent across Alaska. It blooms start from the bottom and ripple to the top. The saying here in Alaska is that when the fireweed is finished blooming we have three weeks until winter.

“Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see. There is an interest in that which is hidden and which the visible does not show us. This interest can take the form of a quite intense feeling, a sort of conflict, one might say, between the visible that is hidden and the visible that is present.”1
In the echo of Belgian artist René Magritte’s words, the mystique of his painting The Lovers becomes immediately apparent. At first glance, the canvas appears to depict an ordinary display of affection: a couple occupying the center of the frame, positioned against a vast, seemingly infinite void, entwined in a passionate kiss. Images of kissing couples were, even in Magritte’s time, a cliché. But in Magritte’s hands, the cliché is promptly discarded. He disrupts our expectations by covering his subjects’ heads in suffocating cloth. The act is simultaneously intimate and distancing. Magritte turns the face—typically a window onto a subject’s thoughts and emotions—into a disorienting enigma that compels us to grapple with the tension between concealment and revelation. Are we truly connecting with others, or merely entangled in a web of illusion?"

Set your sights high....the higher the better. Expect the most wonderful things to
happen, not in the future but right now. Let absolutely nothing dim the light shining from within your soul.
A teenager played with fireworks, and the forest burnt. So the main attraction of the state was closed due to possible rock falls. They could have let us a few meters closer, but no.
The sunrise never quite met our expectations on Sunday. I took a good number of shots, but they were just not what I was looking for.
We also had to cut our walk short due to a family emergency so we didn't get the chance to investigate properly either.
That being said, I do like this one (most likely as I still had hope at this point:o) and I do have a few others to play with that I took after realising that a spectacular sunrise was not on the horizon, quite literally.
This one will be a return visit at some point.

The time before Christmas is a quite busy period. We can hardly find a moment to stay and enjoy what's happening around. Meanwhile the circle of nature keeps moving. Only rural life may bring you close to this feeling. To this comfort inside and the expectation of winter's wonders.
The picture from a scenic small village taken a year ago.
Thank you for all the comments and faves, my friends.
Ascending Mow Cop for the first time.
Mow Cop is one of those places i've seen photos of and wanted to visit, but i didn't think my first visit would be in the snow! Not moaning but looking forward to going again with no snow, more traction, seeing all the rocks and parking in the car park!
We try to fit everything we want, everyone we know or meet into a frame of expectations which leads to disappointments. But nature suggests that the frame is just a see through object and everything changes depending on how you hold it.
You can pour the ocean into a pricey vase, but it'll stop its storming. Some call it maturity; I call it the slow death of a legend. A tangerine tastes sweeter in solitude than at a dinner table set with expectations. Remember that boy who wasn't afraid of falling? He’s waiting for you at the studio—not at the kitchen table back home.

It's Avanti's 11.10am London Euston - Chester service (1D85), which not only arrives bang on schedule but eventually reaches Chester on time too. Great Expectations, at least regards timekeeping, would appear to have been met on this occasion!
