This meets the expectation meets requirement 4: flash. For this image, I placed the subject in a corner with little light. Using my black phone case, I absorbed some of the flash from the left side of the image to create a soft effect throughout the shot. I shot at a shutter speed of 1/200, an aperture of f/4.5 and stood above the subject to create a better angle for a portrait. I edited and color corrected the image with post-processing in Lightroom.

ADDICTION AND EXPECTATION FOR THE ATTRACTIONS IS SOCIAL MEDIA (18.11.2021).
“Make sure we are happy in real life, not just in social media.”
Principal’s Message:
Social media is training us to compare our lives, instead of appreciating everything we are. No wonder why everyone is always depressed. We must spend a little more time trying to make something of ourselves and a little less time trying to impress people. We should listen more to our surroundings and spend less time on our phone. Most people spend less time outside than prisoners. When we spend too much time thinking about other people’s lives, we spend less time working on our own. One of the main problems in families today is that we spend less and less time together. Time together is precious time- time needed to talk, to listen, to encourage, and to show how to do things. Talk less, do more. Make our actions louder than our voice. We should spend less time staring into screens and more time staring into eyes and we should cherish our family and make time for our family, have patience, and laugh often with them. We should spend less time in the mirror and more time feeling, wonderful, social media addiction is society’s biggest problem. The addiction to social media is like suicide in daily installments. Some people try too hard for social media but not hard enough in real life.
Let us always remember that sacrifice means spending less time on entertainments and more time on improving our life and our family.

It was late. My feet were tired. I wanted to go home.

"High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation" - Charles Kettering. When a newly joined faculty who is just six months old in the institution ventures for something big like a Management Development Programme (MDP), expectations from the director, colleagues and public is really high. I believe that it is that high expectation which helped me to successfully complete the MDP which was appreciated by all the 35 participants alike. I am greatly in debt to Dr. Babu Joseph (Former Vice Chancellor of Cochin University of Science and Technology) who readily agreed to come for the valedictory ceremony amidst his busy schedule. Being a voracious reader and writer, the wisdom he shared was priceless and it was a real motivation for the upcoming learning and development experts. He said " At this juncture, I would like to appreciate Dr. Manu Melwin Joy for the novelty of the topic (Gamification) that he has chosen for the MDP and the meticulous way in which he has carried out the program which is evident from the feedback of the participant.” Mr Anand Unnikrishnan (Chief Business Consultant, Busa solutions) and Dr. Mary Fatima Cross (Professor, SCMS School of Technology and Management) share their feedback on conduct of the program, the expertise of the resource person and the rich takeaways from the session. My special thanks to Prof. Dr. D. Mavoothu (Director, School of Management Studies, CUSAT) for having trust in me and supporting me during the planning and execution of the program.
