(Possibly) the last one of this for now.

Birmingham, West Midlands, UK.

My Birmingham set.

Expectant crowds watch the Flying Scotsman pull into Goathland Station. I liked all the faces and the heat haze from the Engine. I had set up to wait for my previous shot "Scotch Mist!" and the train was going to Grosmont first, before coming back with more steam on the incline.

He also does warning barks, chasing and the "expectant look". Well my boy, if you want fresh food you can catch it yourself.

(Our garden this afternoon. SOOC shot, no crop.)

Jasmine and Zoey waiting for crackers and canned Tuna on our afternoon break at Santa Ysabel Preserve.

Kiwanis park in Arroyo Grande has a problem: people abandon their chickens there. I saw a wide variety of showbirds, mostly males, wandering the grounds.Someone is kindly feeding these semi-feral roosters. Some are quite beautiful, like this one. It is so sad that many of them come out to the sidewalk and wait expectantly when people come.

“The rose is a flower of love. The world has acclaimed it for centuries. Pink roses are for love hopeful and expectant. White roses are for love dead or forsaken, but the red roses, ah the red roses are for love triumphant.”

T-4 days till the internets tubes are connected, apparently. The router is sat there, all expectant. I am shivering out here on this balcony. It snowed briefly earlier today, you know.

Not sure whether I over-processed this a bit. I may change my mind about it and delete it next time I'm at a hooked up computer...

Ah, the expectant father... So far so good, all seems well with my bluebird couple and their 5 eggs. It's still a bit early but it's getting closer to time for those little ones to hatch. That is if all goes well and they go by the book. I guess they should hatch on or around March 12. Oh boy, that is the day I am supposed to drive to Ft. Myers to attend the butterfly tagging seminar and make my decision about that. Decisions, decisions.

A starling which landed not too far from where I was sat in my garden this morning. By now, I'd have expected a garden full of fledglings but none so far. There's been so much starling activity that I'd say they're due any day now. If they do, I'll miss them anyway because I'll be on the road and offline for the next few days.

People wait expectantly in San Francisco International Airport for the first sight of someone they know to appear in the crowd off a plane.

Toni, Andy and I were there to meet Podz off his plane. I had flown in earlier in the day and was almost asleep on my feet but I managed to make this hand held long exposure shot!

Many thanks to all who Comment, view and or Favorite My Photos. It is greatly appreciated!!!!!

I only had a few moments to take photos before Hildegard was upon me, chewing at my pants for attention. That's Anna behind her, looking on expectantly. She's hoping I get a scoop of grain pellets for the herd.

Diejenigen, die aber das Unmögliche fordern, erreichen wenigstens das Mögliche.“

Thought a closeup of the coolest Corinth Kmart relic I found would be kind of fitting for the lead off photo of my last batch from the late May 2018 Ollie's visit.

ooooh yes....a true love's kiss !! and kristoff looking expectantly hehe..

Drove past a paddock of horses on Sunday. They were all lined up expectantly, so we pulled up so I could go over for a 'chat'. I was patting them all but this little foal kept pushing in wherever he could for more nuzzles:-)

While standing there a horse box went by and as it went further up the road I could hear the horse inside kicking. So could these horses as they trotted across the field to see what was going on. As soon as the horse box had passed and they had confirmed that there was nothing to be concerned about, they all trotted back to see me again - lol

For those who have enquired, my antibiotics have started working and I am beginning to feel a lot better, which is a good job as we are off to see the musical 42nd Street tonight.

Zebras are several species of African equids (horse family) united by their distinctive black-and-white striped coats. Their stripes come in different patterns, unique to each individual. They are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. Unlike their closest relatives, horses and donkeys, zebras have never been truly domesticated. There are three species of zebras: the plains zebra, the mountain zebra and the Grévy's zebra. The plains zebra and the mountain zebra belong to the subgenus Hippotigris, while Grévy's zebra is the sole species of subgenus Dolichohippus. The latter resembles an ass, to which zebras are closely related, while the former two look more horse-like. All three belong to the genus Equus, along with other living equids. The unique stripes of zebras make them one of the animals most familiar to people. They occur in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains, and coastal hills. Various anthropogenic factors have had a severe impact on zebra populations, in particular hunting for skins and habitat destruction. Grévy's zebra and the mountain zebra are endangered. While plains zebras are much more plentiful, one subspecies, the quagga, became extinct in the late 19th century – though there is currently a plan, called the Quagga Project, that aims to breed zebras that are phenotypically similar to the quagga in a process called breeding back. A fine evening running a workshop at this classic little Cornish beach, and some really nice light. The Zero 2000 pinhole camera gives a fantastically dreamy feel, and is really fun to use. You never quite know what you are going to get but that is part of the excitement!

Had a brilliant morning trying to get the promised High Brown Fritillary shot! Large fritillaries tumbled upwards in a riot of orange, as they were full of the joys of youth. The High Browns were last to show but were resplendent in their velvety orange, a heavy musky foetid smell of Hemlock hung in the humid glade! Stunning morning, Heard Them Stirring by Fleet Foxes, sums up a wonderful expectant wait, followed by the rustle of touching wings!
