ODC: Exotic
I was stumped for this challenge until I saw this beautiful planter with the exotic looking grass in front of the shop where I get my hair done. Then when I found out the plant is called "King Tut" I knew it was my photo for today!
Thunbergia battiscombei ?
The sign said the plants are what would be found where the animals were. I assume they are therefore exotics.
Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium
Exotic flower arrangement. This one evolved over the week, as first small bunches of pink bananas were added, then red pineapples.
This exotic arrangement with a Banksia Spinulosa as its centerpiece was for sale at the Grand Lake Farmers Market in the Hieb Family Farm booth. They are based in Sonoma County and specialize in Proteas and other exotics.
As the sign reads:
"Menagerie and the Circus United"
Exotic animals invaded Springfield whenever the circus came to town. Lincoln enjoyed taking his sons to see the animal menageries. This inspired young Bob and his friends to play "lion tamer" by having dogs stand on their hind legs and growl like lions. When the dogs refused, the boys proceeded to tie their front paws to a shed rafter, causing the dogs to sound a noisy alarm. Mr. Lincoln came running to the rescue - barrel stave in hand - and the would-be young showmen scattered.
Elaborate discussions, arguments and laughter amongst the travellers on the elephant. A pity they couldn't (and weren't supposed to be) heard..
A beautiful and exotic flower.
This is a Pink Coral tree (Erythrina speciosa) from Brazil.
The Pink Coral tree presents inflorescence in chandelier form, composed of red-live coloration flowers, very attractive for the hummingbirds.
