The Phalaenopsis orchid is commonly known as the moth orchid as the flowers are borne on slender arching stems and the the white ones do look like moths in mid flight. This is a warm growing orchid and needs temperatures of at least 15C (60F) during the winter and can be allowed to rise up to 28C (82F) during the summer - 20C - 22C being the optimum.

Phalaenopsis Orchid plants are also called the "moth orchid", as their flowers resemble the shape of a moth or butterfly. These are one of the very easiest orchids to grow, and often bloom for over 3 months! Let us show you how to care for these wonderful plants.

Orchidee sempreverdi epifite con foglie larghe, dense e succulenti, dai lati del vaso si possono formare radici aeree. Le specie epifite hanno l'apparato radicale ricoperto da velamen. Questa sostanza è utilissima per l'assorbimento dell'acqua ed in generale delle particelle di umidità. I fiori sono eretti o penduli e presentano spesso delle ramificazioni, la forma è variabile. Il nome Phalaenopsis significa “Orchidea simile a una farfalla”, rappresenta il genere di Orchidea più indicata per la coltivazione in casa. Un’ ottima scelta per tutti i neofiti che vogliono avvicinarsi al mondo delle Orchidee ed iniziare a coltivare questa passione.
