For locals, it's sometimes difficult to imagine the attraction visitors have to our surroundings. After all, the scenery here is part of our daily lives. Jointed mistletoe, Korthalsella, in Atalaya hemiglauca. In a stand of Atalayas and some Wilgas (Geijera parviflora) all of which were hosts to the mistletoe, Korthalsella. We took a specimen of the Korthalsella here from an Atalaya that was about 3 m high. On the roadside reserve, just north of Breeza (296m elevation). On the bottom slope of Breeza Hill. The soil was brown. In the understorey was African boxthorn. The ground cover had various weeds (including zinnias, cactus, Rhodes grass, Chloris gayana) plus some chenopods and native grasses.
