This well-preserved and partially restored six-storeys high tower house is betweeen Lough Doo to the W and Lough Aslaun to the E, it was once the largest in Ireland. It was in existence in 1574 when it was in the possession of 'John Oshagnes' it remained in O'Shaughnessy ownership until 1697 when it was confiscated. The tower has a gabled roof and a slight base-batter. It is protected by two bawns and is centrally located in the inner one. It is accessed by a pointed arched doorway in the N wall, which leads to a small lobby with a murder-hole overhead. Doorways off the lobby access the spiral staircase to the E and the main chamber to the S. The doorway to the guardroom to the W is blocked up and that room is now accessed by a robbed-out doorway at the W end of the N wall of the main chamber. The ground and upper floors each consist of a main chamber with a subsidiary one to the N, with the exception of the 5th floor where the wall which separated the chambers has been destroyed; this is now an open area floored by concrete. Stone vaults exist between the 1st and 2nd floors, and between the 4th and 5th floors of the main chambers. All the other floors were wooden and were carried on corbels, some of which survive in the E and W walls. A barrel vault also exists over the guardroom; otherwise the floors of the subsidiary chambers were also wooden. Again all are gone part from that at 1st-floor level which survives intact. Intramural passages between the main and subsidiary chambers on the 1st and 4th floors accessed garderobes at their W ends. Fireplaces in the W wall on the 2nd and 3rd floors and in the S wall on the 5th floor are later insertions; that on the 2nd floor partially blocks an ogee-headed window. From the 5th floor stairs lead to the wall-walk and attic. The S gable is intact and carries a chimney but the N gable no longer survives. There is also a chimney on the W wall. Angled bartizans survive on the NW and SE corners at 2nd-floor level, and on the top of the tower at the SW corner there is a semicircular machicolation. At this level on the NE corner three corbels indicate the former presence a similar defensive feature. A projecting string course is visible at the top of the walls, and between the chimney and the SW bartizan enclosed crenellations survive. Windows vary from narrow rectangular lights on the stairwell to single, double and three-light round and ogee-headed windows in the subsidiary and main chambers.

Well, I haven't uploaded in a few weeks since I've been very busy lately, however, I figured I would start my first new upload of 2025 off with a bang.
Southern California doesn't see very many new Albertsons Cos. store openings (although I am holding on hope we'll see more in the next few years), and the last new Albertsons Cos. store opening was the new Sherman Oaks Pavilions back in 2021, a replacement for a previous small Pavilions. Today, I decided since this doesn't happen very often, I would make the drive to see the first new Vons in nearly a decade on its grand opening day. The land site of this new store sits on a former Kmart, which it's no longer existent building was demolished and it's foundation ripped out of the ground in order to make way for construction of a brand sparkling new Vons. This new Vons replaces a smaller older Vons in the same shopping center, which I have posted before.
According to liquor licenses, it appears this Vons now has a new store number, 3431, replacing the store number 1672 of the previous store.
This Vons was very busy for its grand opening. It is very interesting to see a Vons opened with an Albertsons layout. It looks completely different from any Vons in existence since it is the only one so far that has opened under their ownership. The open ceilings makes this Vons feel much larger and open than most stores. It also has a walk in beer cooler which is an Albertsons feature. I have never seen in a Vons before.
This store does not have a pharmacy, and I think Albertsons likely didn't add a pharmacy because the CVS in the center has pharmaceutical rights for the whole center. An expanded beer/wine/liquor department takes the space where a pharmacy and health department would normally be located in today's Albertsons new-builds, with the walk in beer cooler likely being the space where a pharmacy would be. I speculate potentially the store being designed so a pharmacy could be added in the future with a walk in beer cooler taking that space for now.
I believe in early designs of this store there were meant to be two entrances, one main entrance, and one entrance where the pharmacy would be, or in this stores case, the liquor department. However, designs changed at some point so now that entrance is a drive up order entrance.
I imagine the Vons Express being constructed with this store will open in the coming months. It is still under construction, but looks like it could wrap up very soon.
Overall beautiful store. I hope there are more to come in the future.

Existence that appeared when the fourth person was removed. A knight on a blustery horse. Its name and identity are none other than death itself. It is described as holding a Daenat or Sösslang [8]. You may wonder what the difference is that the catastrophe caused by the other articles described above also leads to death anyway, and the blue knight of death means a supernatural death itself. In other words, the various 'deaths' that the other three knights bring are harvests that take place with the permission of the blue knight. Perhaps for this reason, in the creation, it is described as the title of the four articles in the Annunciation. Perhaps it is because it is a transcendent concept of death, which is different from war, conquest, and famine. There is an interpretation that all four powers belong to him, but if you divide the four, you are in charge of disease. The description of a pale horse as a sick horse, and the disease above strictly means death from the disease due to θα να τικ́ο. For this reason, the translation of the communion below was also translated as death, not disease. A previous existence as a military parachutist helped Patrick Baty on this project. The 185ft bridge had to be scaled at night, when the trains had stopped running, in order for paint samples to be taken.

He was able to establish that this famous bridge by Isambard Kingdom Brunel had originally been painted with a white “anti-corrosive” paint containing ground glass. The bridge had been painted twenty times and with a combination of physical and documentary analysis Patrick was able to work out how it looked since it was built in 1859.
