Historic 1911 firehouse for sale in the Excelsior as a huge residence! Also where the Anne Hathaway character lived in The Princess Diaries.
During a recent vintage and pinup photo shoot it was suggested I get a photo of these 2 bikes together - they are from the run of only 1,000.

Until Metal Wizard Paul Brodie came along, there were no 1919 OHC Excelsior Boardtrackers. Rumor has it that Ignaz Schwinn, owner of Excelsior, destroyed them all after factory rider Bob Perry was killed at Ascot Park CA, January 4, 1920, while practicing on the new race bike.
Working from three old black and white photographs, Paul started to recreate these machines in 2005. Excelsior #001 is now in New Yorks' Motorcyclepedia Museum, #002 is in the permanent collection at Yesterdays in Holland, and #003 is in a private collection in Australia... Excelsior #004 is now complete and ready for it's new home.

The rusted remains of the steamer 'Excelsior' at Mutton Cove, Osborne, South Australia. Built in Scotland in 1897, it was abandoned in the cove in 1945 as diesel-powered ships made coal obsolete.
Excelsior renewed a significant proportion of their fleet in 2015/6 with nine Volvo B11R Jonckheere JHVs now being dominant. Exciting times lie ahead now that they are part of the Go Ahead group although today, 2nd January, 2016, BF65 WKL was one of two fleet members on rather mundane Chichester to Havant rail replacement duties.
The Excelsior was once that largest geyser in the world, reaching heights of 300 feet. After major eruptions in the 1800s, it took most of the 20th century off, then erupted continuously for two days in 1985. These days, it's a beautiful blue hot spring.
Their love of all things Ford & Plaxton was a long standing affair, Excelsior's Panorama I Ford R226 / Thames 36 seen here, FLJ31D was one of 2 at that time ordered for the fleet, I wuld say this is pictured abroad somewhere as it was their speciality at that time

Located on Walnut Street. This is at the time of the 1920 graduation and a couple of years before Excelsior moved to the new building at Pioneer and Center, now Alondra. After Excelsior moved, the building was rebadged as Norwalk Grammar School. You can see barely see the cupola of the earlier Norwalk Grammar School behind and to the left of this building.

Volvo B10M-61 / Duple 320 C57F. Having taken in 11 Bedford YNV/Plaxton coaches over the previous 3 years, Excelsior moved to the Volvo/Duple combination for their 'extra' coaches. 1988 saw the arrival of E321/2OPR fitted out as 57 seaters. The former is seen here at the June 1988 Epsom Derby.

This is the remains of Excelsior, a very rare 3ft gauge Aveling and Porter overtype railway locomotive. Basically a traction engine adapted for rail, this is works number No.1607 of 1880, built for the Scout Moor Tramway. (Many thanks to Peter Foley for the identification of this loco)
