Today was our second and last day in Yellowstone, and while we did see some amazing things, it was frustrating as far as shooting goes. We got out early this morning at about 7:15, and the visibility due to fog was maybe a mile. After we had entered the park, it seemed to burn off, until we got into the Midway Geyser Basin area, where the fog was thicker than ever. We went up to see Excelsior Geyser and the Grand Prismatic Spring, but the fog, combined with the steam coming off of the geysers, was so thick you could barely see the person in front of you. The temperatures have been in the upper 40s here, which I love, but it doesn't mix well with the hot temperatures of the geysers.
We decided to move on, and come back later in the day after the fog had burned off. When my brother and I got up to the basin, we were happy to see that at least part of the Excelsior Geyser was visible due to the strong wind blowing the steam away from part of the pool. Unfortunately, the Grand Prismatic Spring was almost completely covered with steam still, so we weren't able to get a good look at it, but I was happy to at least be able to get a few shots of this beauty.
I'm sad to be leaving Yellowstone, but we are headed to the Grand Tetons tomorrow so the fun isn't quite over yet (: We're going on a slow moving rafting tour on Wednesday, so hopefully I'll be able to pull off some decent shots from that.
Thank you all for looking, and have a great night!

I haven't seen one in years to be honest!! Excelsior used to buy large batches of Fords in the 70's to early 80's and quite a few found their way to South Wales when sold on.Basic coaches though nice too. What the independents were modernising with in those days.
Anyway this Caetano Enigma (Volvo??) was at Swansea yesterday, showing that Excelsior are not only still with us but moving with the times too.....
