The completed chassis. Now, it is time to see if the Rover V8 engine is going to fit.I think that we have made good progress. I got the bare chassis on 13 October, and now 5 months later, it is all finished. Inreality, Jim has done all the work on Saturday mornings only. (99)

While all the bodywork is going on, the rest of the car has not been forgotten about. On 27th April 2007 I collected from Mike Taylors yard an Excel SE complete interior.
Until I saw all the individual components, I was not aware that ther was such a big difference between the normal Excel and the SE. I am now not 100% sure as to what I want so I think that I will probably get more a normal Excel, and mix & match various parts, and as usual with fiberglass, I will have the option of finetuning various parts as the project progresses. The lugless frame has conventional 'Continental' type race inserts brazed into the headtube.. It makes for a much lighter frame.
