The new Excel body back from Mike Taylors yard, next to my old hack Eclat body.
There are quite a lot of a small and subtle changes to the newer body, plus the fact that visually it looks much better fiberglass work.
I am sure that I can make the project work, but there is a couple of years work ahead. 23 June 2006 (140)
Details of the painted chassis:- The diff hanging mounting bracket rubber bush which we did not change, and the pipe in which the handbrake cable comes out.
A lot of work was put into the cleaning up of the chassis. It was pressure washed twice, Jiffex used to remove the oil, the galvansing was starting to suffer from oxidation, so this was removed by scraping, and wire brushes in an angle grinder etc.
After cleaning, the chassis was found to be in excellent condition.
2 coats of Galvafroid were applied before painting (10 Dec 2005) and lacquering. The galvansied chassis, now has 2 coats of galvafroid, and a complete paint system, so should last and last. (51)
Even though I've killed thousands of Excel cases...I still cannot figure out how this template is made...
It's picked from Office Online template library.
