This aircraft was delivered to Eastern Air lines as N522EA in Dec-85. It was sold to a lessor on delivery and leased back to Eastern. Eastern ceased operations in Jan-91, the aircraft was reclaimed by the lessor in Mar-91 and stored at Mojave, CA, USA. It was leased to Air 2000 as G-OOOW in Oct-91. It was withdrawn from service and stored at Filton, UK in Nov-01 and returned to the lessor in May-02 when it was moved to Southend, UK for further storage. The aircraft was leased to Air Atlanta Icelandic as TF-ARE in Sep-02. It initially remained in storage until it was wet-leased to Excel Airways (UK) in May-03. It returned to Air Atlanta in Nov-03 and was placed in winter storage at Mojave, CA, USA. It was wet-leased to Excel Airways again in May-04 and was due to be re-registered G-VKNC, but that wasn't taken up. It was returned to Air Atlanta in Nov-05 and placed in winter storage at Shannon, Ireland. In Mar-06 the aircraft was re-registered G-VKNC and sub-leased to Excel Airways for the summer, returning to the lessor in Nov-06. It was immediately sold to Aeroturbine Inc as N315ST and stored at Jacksonville (VQQ), FL, USA. It was converted to freighter configuration with a main deck cargo door May-07 and leased to VARIGLOG Cargo (Brasil) as PR-LGI. The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Jun-09 and was re-registered N315ST again the following month when it was stored at Jacksonville (VQQ). It was sold to Aerolease LLC in Mar-10 and remained stored. The registration N243AL was assigned in May-10 but wasn't used. The aircraft was due to be leased to CargoBIS (Brasil) as PP-BIY but the lease was cancelled and the aircraft remained stored. It was leased to DHL Aviation Services (Bahrain) as A9C-DHD in Oct-11. The aircraft was stored at San Jose, Costa Rica in Jun-17 and was returned to the lessor in Sep-17. It remained at San Jose until it was moved to Goodyear, AZ, USA in Dec-17. It was sold to Pacific Air Express (Australia) as VH-PQA in Mar-18. Now over 33 years old, it continues in service. Updated (Apr-19).

Salute, one of the largest wargames events in Britain was held on Saturday at Excel London. The event attracted more than 6000 UK wargamers, military modellers and re-enactors of all ages and featured table-top wargames based on many periods in world history.

As well as table-top wargames there were re-enactors from the Zulu War, Elizabethan period and even a Lara Croft look-a-alike. There were some real military vehicles including Fox and Ferret armoured cars and remote-control model tanks in huge 1/4 and 1/6 scale. Truly these were big boys' toys!
