Work is going on the rear window slats. We have decided to abort Matts idea, and to go use Neils initiative by turning the 4 separate seperate slats into 1 moulding. This will be able to be remove in one go, which will make it easy to clean. There is some additional material being added which will aid the construction of the slat panel. (231)
A lot of work was put into the cleaning up of the chassis. It was pressure washed twice, Jiffex used to remove the oil, the galvansing was starting to suffer from oxidation, so this was removed by scraping, and wire brushes in an angle grinder etc.(47)
Here we can see the various component, ie rear window slats, rear windows, bootlid, bumper, exhaust pipes all in place. .
Details of the painted chassis:- The front corner looking up from the bottom. This was the most difficult part to get into and clean.

After cleaning, the chassis was found to be in excellent condition.
2 coats of Galvafroid were applied before painting (10 Dec 2005) and lacquering. The galvansied chassis, now has 2 coats of galvafroid, and a complete paint system, so should last and last. (54)
