St. Magnus Cathedral, Kirkwall. It is the most northerly cathedral in Britain, a fine example of Romanesque architecture built for the bishops of Orkney when the islands were ruled by the Norse Earls of Orkney. It is owned not by the church, but by the burgh of Kirkwall as a result of an act of King James III of Scotland following Orkney's annexation by the Scottish Crown in 1468. It has its own dungeon.
Construction began in 1137, and it was added to over the next three hundred years. The first bishop was William the Old, and the diocese was under the authority of the Archbishop of Nidaros in Norway. It was for Bishop William that the nearby Bishop's Palace was built.
Before the Reformation, the cathedral was presided over by the Bishop of Orkney, whose seat was in Kirkwall. Today, it is a parish church of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland, and therefore technically no longer a cathedral.
LTLprints friends and staff share with you BIG WALL GRAPHICS to show you just how BIG and fun our prints really are.
Fiddling around with Lucisart plug-in. This is sculpture at a very low setting. I prefer this to the regular shot, there seems to be more detail in the fabrics.
Enigma G, G110. This example is a rare type of Enigma G. Part of a shipment delivered to the Hungarian armed forces in 1931, it is one of two surviving machines with a printer connection.
Digital fonts offer more and more possibilities compared to 30 years ago. A font can support multiple scripts, can provide typographic finesse through smart OpenType features, can be dynamic, and can also contain color.
While most fonts are colourless, or rather have only one colour that can be changed by the user, there are plenty of examples of fonts that do contain multiple colours. Emojis are the best known and most widespread examples.
Recently, a new standard has been published (COLRv1) that makes advanced colour fonts possible, with gradients and transparency. Today we release a set of fonts that take advantage of the new possibilities this font format offers.
1: Plakato Color
Plakato Color is a set of 24 predefined color fonts that take advantage of the benefits of this new font format, and are available to designers in a wide variety of out-of-the-box versions. (see 10 examples below)
2: Plakato Color Grade
Plakato Color Grade lets you define your own colors and styles, exactly in the way you want. (try yourself)

Not sure which vendor had this, but it was a digital camera selection tool. See details, etc. etc. Nicely done.
This is one structure that can be made using my plates, it can be used for anything from the leg of a robot, to the nose of a fighter jet.
For example, in Darija, there are two ways to say to think: dun and fkkr. Dun more accurately means to hypothesize, but no one actually says things, “Well, I hypothesize that if you go out with your hair wet, you’ll catch your death of cold, and your uterus will fall out and you won’t be able to have babies.” Fatima gave us a bunch of examples of the different uses of dun and fkkr, and then had us write sentences for both. We also draw pictures of the verbs as a memorization tool.
Example: Sara Facio is responsible for giving the public a view of many writers from the Latin American literary boom through her candid style portraits. I believe this shot of Mexican poet and diplomat Octavio Paz shows her style of photography well, with high contrast shadows on the subject and a natural environment or scene.

The floodway is the channel of the stream and that portion of the adjoining floodplain reasonably required to provide for the passage of a specified flood; it is also the floodway between existing levees as determined by the Flood Protection Board or the Legislature.

Examples and studies for a deacon's office crucifix. The image of Christ has been cut out to reveal a first surface mirror. These are expensive and delicate mirrors such as NASA or medical researchers would use. Normal mirrors are about 92% reflective accuracy; first surface mirrors reflect above 98%. They are so accurate the eye has a hard time telling whether an object is a reflection or the real thing.
Anyway, during the forty days of Lent, the crucifix is "shrouded" by placing the steel cut out of Jesus back into the crucifix. On Easter Morning, the steel cut out is removed and we see ourselves reflected with startling clarity in image of Christ crucified for us.
(The steel cut out is stored on the back of the mirror until the following year.)
I was futzing with my father's Canon T50 - which I totally stole - and realized it had unfinished film inside, so I fired off the remaining pictures (including these two) using his 80-200mm lens. When I saw the film was super-shitty I decided to xprocess it in black-n-white chemistry.
This is a two-shot example of how the film itself looks when scanned in color. (Here's the scale itself scanned in black-n-white.)

Plakato is a small family of display fonts, where each style has its own characteristics. Plakato is the happy chap, a no-nonsense stencil font with a lot of additional powers, that amiable person you call for help when your message needs to be heard/seen.
Varying from a very fat stencil font family (sure, with flashy italics), up to a neon version, or a font which is constructed out of a few different building blocks in Plakato style. And did we already mention the digital nostalgia in Plakato Game (designed on a C64), and all those extra emoji’s and dingbats? Now we did.
Plakato is an identity toolkit, a heavyweight building block in case you need a strong personality, a small stencil font family to cut out your best ideas and grab all the attention.
Plakato comes in 16 eye-catching styles. The default stencil style comes in Regular & Italic. They both have 2 variations: one version, named Plakato Stencil, automatically creates borders around the text, putting any text into a graphic stencil in this way. Another version, the extruded three-dimensional version, guarantees even more attention for your message.
Next to this there is also the Inline version, which is an optical play with a lot of lines. Plakato Inline has a supportive background layer, a separate font in case you want to add a background in a different colour.
Then there is Plakato Paper, a manually teared version of Plakato offering a more physical look. This small family of eye-catching display fonts also contains a Neon font, an independent design in Plakato style, which can actually be used for making neon signs due to its construction. Plakato Neon comes with its own Dingbat font for that extra flush-flush. Plakato has also been redrawn on a C64, and with all its accompanying limitations been ported back and turned into a font: Plakato Game. Also this font comes with its own Dingbat font, full of emoji’s and icons for oldskool pleasure.
Last but not least there is Plakato Build, constructed out of blocks. As if that wasn’t enough, there are various dynamic versions in the Plakato Play package, which offer a whole new range of possibilities for typographic expression, with new animation and interaction opportunities.
