The exact shot was posted back in November, 2010 called "coolness". I wanted to play around with the white balance and the tones so here is a different one.
The Walter Hill Hydroelectric Station is located in Rutherford County (population 95,948) on the East Fork of the Stones River just off U.S. Highway 231 and approximately six miles north of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Although a conundrum exists concerning the exact date, 1912 appears to be the most likely year for the construction of a small power station built by the Murfreesboro Light and Power Company at Walter Hill, on the East Fork of the Stones River, a mill site since 1804. After a flood in 1918 damaged the dam the Southern Cities Power Company purchased the site and built the extant power station soon thereafter. In 1926 the property was transferred to the Commonwealth Southern River Company. Power continued to be produced at the Walter Hill site until 1934 until a subsidiary of Commonwealth Southern River Company, Murfreesboro Light and Power, shut down the generator. 1939 marked the acquisition of the property by the TVA, which continued to produce power until September 26, 1940 when the site was sold to the city of Murfreesboro. It ceased producing electricity in 1941. The site is currently leased by the City of Murfreesboro to the Tennessee Highway Department which manages it as roadside park.
The Walter Hill Hydroelectric Station is significant under National Register criterion C for engineering because it represents the kind of hydroelectric engineering projects typical at the time of its construction on the smaller rivers of the State of Tennessee. Its design and size, while not unique among its class in the Volunteer State, display the characteristic vertical emphasis of what can be called “early hydro-style.” It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 11, 1990.
Image was taken during my trek to photograph all 95 county courthouses across my home state of Tennessee...now revisiting in order that the courthouses were photographed!
Three bracketed photos were taken with a handheld Nikon D5200 and combined with Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image. Additional adjustments were made in Photoshop CS6.

A trip to shoot Storm Agnes as she rolled into the UK, we headed up to Whitehaven arriving about an hour before sunset, the weather had suggested very strong winds and rain and with that the possibility of some big waves over the harbour walls here.
As it transpired the waves just did not materialise at all but the sky was absolutely epic with thick black cloud rolling through the area just in front of what appreared to be blue skies and wispy sirrus clouds behind it, I'd never experienced a sky quite like that before.
The rain was quite relentless but the forecast suggested a break in it right around sunset so I just set up and covered the camera over to wait for a clear opportunity, thankfully we managed several shots while we were getting a good soaking.
I've not posted this image before, this was one of the first shots I took that evening before the blackness truly rolled in but you can see it creeping in from the right, the high winds meant that I really didn't need a crazy shutter speed to scatter the clouds across the sky and the lower speed also allowed for more detail in the slower moving dark areas. I liked the contrast in this image of the 2 sides of the sky with some nice calming colour on the left and a sense of what was to take over from it on the right.

ENGLISH :
The exact title of the work is unknown. But the title "Night Watch" is an unfounded tradition dating back to the nineteenth century. This painting we had become accustomed to regard as a night scene turned out to be a representation of a group coming out in daylight. It is dirt and aging of the varnish that gave the illusion of the night, which could pass for normal in the work of Rembrandt, familiar to very dark scenes.
This was the very first Opel Olympia version. It was designed by Karl Stief, and was influenced by American car design standards.
The Olympia was presented in February 1935. Production began two months later. The name Olympia was chosen on the occasion of the 1936 Olympic games which were held in Berlin.
What made the Olympia so special was that is was the first mass-produced production car with a monocoque all-metal body.
In November 1936 followed an off-spring: the Opel Kadett which had almost the same body but with a smaller engine.
This first Olympia version was only available as a 2-door saloon and as a convertible.

KODAK AEROGRAPHIC Direct Duplicating Film 2422 was used to make exact copies of aerial surveillance film. It is positive process, orthochromatic and very very slow. I shoot it at EI 3/32 [0.09375] and develop it in Rodinal 1:50 for 13 minutes. Metering is done for EI 3, then that time is multiplied by 32 (5-stops). Exposure times of 16 or 32 seconds are common. I got mine as a 5 inch by 350 foot roll on eBay for $51.40 delivered.
Pretty good stuff I'd say. This scene is something of a highlights and shadows acid test. Between the windows are shadows, and there is detail there. There is also detail in the sunlit scene past the far window.

It took about a month of playing around with this stuff to figure out the speed and developing time for it. Documentation cites no reciprocity effects out to 10 seconds, but I've taken it to 17 minutes with not much degradation - probably would need about a full stop adjustment out there.
The Ruins at 33420 Series
I guess this would be the exact opposite of all of the color photos I've posted in the past couple of days, and it makes sense; I'm drained.
Physically, my body is revolting against my me. I ate one thing of yogurt today and a lot of energy drinks. I'm starving. I'm shaky, I almost passed out on the way back from Maine (ugh, I know), and I'm tired. No wonder, right? Your body needs food in order to have any kind of energy. I've had ups and downs with eating and it is a little scary to me that the down that I'm currently facing has had side effects that made themselves known so quickly and boldly.
Mentally, I'm... well, I don't know what I am. Tonight was a full night. I love the group that I'm in where I volunteer. The kids bring me to a place that I can't bring myself on my own. I think I've finally found my place there. I love it. I'm surrounded by people who open their hearts to each other every week. Tonight people shared some very deep thoughts. Deep and honest. It got me thinking, which ultimately made me fold into myself and think about everything that they were talking about. At one point I felt like I was so out of it, so mentally just gone that I needed to feel the warmth of the woman sitting next to me (thank you). It helped. It actually carried me home, but after that I just checked out. I look back at the beginning of the night and I was full of pep and energy, and by the end of it I was in a place I didn't want to be. Cold and alone is the only way I can describe it.
I obviously have some problems that need working on. The eating is the tip of a very large ice berg. I want to be healthy, I want to get better, I want to be able to process things, I want to feel my emotions... I want to be "normal". I just don't know how. Is that stupid? I find myself asking "why is it so hard to be normal?" It should come naturally, shouldn't it? I don't know.
Right now, I'm feeling that gross feeling. I'm holding back tears and looking ahead to what I've got going for me and it makes me want to crawl in a corner some place and just forget about it all.
I'm sorry to bring this up. I feel like I'm a broken record. I don't talk about this stuff to anyone, I don't feel like I have the right to. Everyone else is way more important, intelligent, and worthy. Not me. I wonder when that was programmed into my brain?
I am Kinnikuman Mariposa. Or, properly,
Oh, he's very proper.
It sounded like he said the exact same name but in a way I couldn't understand it.
Why are you looking off stage?
I am one of the Five Fated Princes.
Wow, ANOTHER of them.
It seems a lot more than five by this point.
No, I think it's five.
Maybe we keep seeing the same ones.
Where are you looking??
I am also known as Thief George.
Thief... George...?
He's very quiet and well-spoken for a Chive Grated Princess.
I was born on the same day as Kinnikuman and the Five Fated Princes, and I later fought in the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne. I lived as a thief and stole the Analo Staff from the Robin Clan, before later coming up against Robin Mask in the tournament and losing to him.
He was probably miffed at you stealing his staff!
Though I was born on the same day and in the same hospital as Kinnikuman and four other young boys, because of a fire we children were mixed up and the true heir of our home planet may have been misplaced. I grew up in poverty with very little possessions, which left me with a bitter resentment to chojin with more prestigious backgrounds. I thus became a thief targeting only those rich families.
There's no excuse!
Crime does not pay!
What are you looking at??
My family moved to Planet Moctezuma or, properly, モクテスマ星, a planet with an atmosphere so thin its inhabitants were forced to wear oxygen masks. Because of this, I grew up with a tough heart and amazing jumping abilities.
That... doesn't sound like how that would work.
It's Kinniku-physics in a Kinniku-origin. What do you expect?
It was then, while living as a thief, I stole the Robin Family heirloom the Anoalo Sceptre or, properly, the アノアロの杖. I stole it directly from Robin Mask's hand as he played in the garden as a child, because I believed I would get more use from it than would be served by it remaining a decorative heirloom.
When all was done, Kinnikuman had proven himself worthy to become the next king of our home planet. In response, five evil beings sought out the rest of us, the other potential heirs, and gave us great chojin power to become the Five Fated Princes. We all claimed to be the true heir. A tournament was organized to determine who would be worthy of ascending the throne.
But Kinnikuman had already proven himself worthy!
Apparently they didn't like that outcome and forced a do-over.
Kinnikuman was granted a white cape which must be stained with the blood of his five opponents. Each of the six potential princes - including Kinnikuman - had to forge a team of five people to fight to prove their worth. I was assigned Kumamoto Castle in the first round, where my team was set to fight against Kinnikuman's team. I chose as my teammates: Hawkman, King the 100-Ton, Mixer Taitei, and Mister VTR.
Oh, we've met all of them except Hawkman! *
We've seen Hawkman! He was here with Hawkgirl.
No, that was the Justice League Hawkman! **
Oh!
Kinnikuman chose Alexandria Meat for his team.
That's only one person.
I thought the team had to be five.
Kinnikuman also added Robin Mask and Terry Man to his team but wrote their names in invisible ink.
That doesn't... sure, why not.
So, in the fighting I was defeated by Robin Mask. Kinnikuman dipped his cape in my blood and unmasked me. We lost.
It is so appropriate that you were defeated by Robin Mask.
I thought so too. Stealing his Analooly whatever right out of his hand when he was a child!
I later returned with the other Fated Princes and my first opponent would be Hailman. Hailman was fresh off a victory against Teapackman. Our match took place in Bram Castle. Even though the Anoalo Sceptre was off-limits, I figured out a way to set myself on fire through building up friction by spinning against the corner post.
Why would you do that??
And what does that have to do with the Analolo Specter?
Scepter.
What?
It's a scepter, not a specter.
Well why is it back again? I feel like we missed something.
Oh, we're missing something, alright.
Hailman figured this out what I was doing and froze the post to prevent this from happening again. After giving me a beating, Hailman decided to finish me off by freezing me to death. Somehow, Hailman's body turned into a magnifying lens, setting off a spark in the process. I took advantage of this and broke free. I then finished off Hailman with an improved version of the Phoney Muscle Revenger, the Aztec Cemetery.
What other moves do you have?
I have the Senton Gebradora where I flip over the ropes and slam my buttocks down on my opponent's chest.
Ooookay...
You had to ask!
I also have the Iron Post Binding where I use the four corner-posts to impale my opponent's limbs into the canvas. Then there is the Moctezuma Defense where I use the Analo Staff to set my body and the ropes on fire.
You still have the Annie staff??
I thought Robin Mask got that back.
Then there is my Aztec Drop, Aztec Headbutt, and Aztec Senton, which are used during the Moctezuma Defense.
My version of the Muscle Revenger is a reverse of the actual Muscle Revenger. In it, I jump high into the air with my jumping ability and I come down on my opponent with a headbutt (thus resembling a vertical Muscle Millennium).
My Aztec Cemetery is modified version of the Fake Muscle Revenger. Once I'm done headbutting his opponent into the canvas, Kinnikuman I pull them out with my legs before building up momentum mid-air. I then slam my opponent's head right into the canvas.
Yep, enough moves, thank you!
I enjoyed my debut with you all. Again, you can also call me Thief George or, properly, 盗人ジョージ, or Nusutto Jooji. I am 185cm tall and weigh 100kg. I am a Chojin Kyodo of 100,000,000 Power.
So... does anyone know why he's looking off like that?

ARCHDIOCESAN SHRINE OF STO. NIÑO DE JESUS (TONDO CHURCH)
Quoted from Manila Weekly - manilaweekly.wordpress.com/2021/04/04/visita-iglesia-in-m... :
The current iteration of Tondo Church, completed in 1695 – the Santo Niño de Tondo Parish (commonly known as Tondo Church) was established by the Spanish Agustinian Friars in 1572. It houses an infant image of Jesus (Santo Niño) which originally came from Acapulco, Mexico. The current church was believed to be the exact location where the house of Lakandula (King of Tondo) was located.
Its architectural style is neoclassical, built using masonry. Its structural envelope is characterized by minimal ornamentation, with Ionic rectangular pilasters that are attached from its main façade. Also, its buttresses support the unproportioned domes of the bell towers. There have been many restorations and renovations of the church due to calamities or war, two of which are the 1863 earthquake and during World War II – the Japanese forces used the church as their cuartel. Today, the Tondo Church measures 65 m long, 22 m wide and 17 m high. It attracts thousands of tourists and parishioners, especially during the fiesta of the Santo Niño de Tondo every third week of January.

Exact same processing as the previous image - with the exception of cloning in some brick on the right.
This photo didn't make my first pass when picking my session favorites - mainly because of the blown brick on the right. However, this happens to be my daughter and this is a rare expression for her (she can never hold a straight face). It was worth the extra time cloning. She actually hates the photo, but I over ruled her! ; )
The IFA F8 was an almost exact copy of the pre-war front wheel drive DKW Typ 8-700 Meisterklasse.
Note the windscreen heater. It is probably a home-made addition.
Directly after the war Eastern Germany stayed occupied by the Sovjet troops. All motor car factories in Sachsen were expropriated and declared as businesses owned by the people (Volkseigenen Betrieb / VEB).
These factories in the Eastern territories had suffered relatively little damage during the war. In Summer 1946 they already started up for repairing purposes for the Sovjets. Late 1947 these Eastern German businesses were unified as IFA (Industrieverwaltung Fahrzeugbau).
The first passenger cars were produced in 1948. But it was not until 1949 that regular automobile construction really got going. In the former Audi-Werk in Zwickau ran the IFA F8 of the line. Inspiration was found in the 1939 DKW F8 range, which was actually based on the 1934 DKW F4. The 2-door F8 saloon had a partly wooden frame body covered with imitation leather.
So in the same period the Western German DKW had developed complete new cars with modern streamlined steel bodies the East-German car manufacturers went back 15 years in time. They would never reach the same level of design and technical performance as the Western German branch did.

Hard to find the exact model number for Rolleiflex. Too many models (counted 115 different "Rollies" over the years) and variations in the same model line. Looks like a 1937 Rolleiflex. Serial Number 749874
My guess an Automat 6x6 - Model RF 111A? Checked many a "Rolleiflex" website. Maybe you know what model it is.
... and to think I was stationed only 80km away from the factory and never visited it :-(
on another note, I also have a YashicaMat (admittedly in better shape and 20 years younger) but the mechanics feel better and more refined. Can't figure out why the Rollies are so in demand, they have been made in the millions. So not a "rare" breed.

These, my friends, are the exact photoshooting conditions that any landscape photographer could ask for ... Once you find them, you'd better be ready to make the most out of them !!!
A storm was imminent but not even a drop had reached the ground up to that moment ... Nature around Porto Lagos lagoon was gradually transforming itself into an environment of moving shades ... This was exactly what I wanted to capture (and maybe intensify a little) hence my rather "unorthodox" for the lightless circumstances camera settings ... In the middle of the synthesis two herons, propably a couple, were enjoying each other's company playing in front of Nature's strange looking yellowish surrounding colors ...
And I was feeling lucky because I happened to be at the exact place ... the exact time !!!

I have dreamed of taking this photo for a very long time, but given its difficulty in taking it, I have always put it off.
I had been studying the ideal conditions for shooting for years.
Now I will tell you how I made "Rosso Ciriaco".
First of all you need to know the exact moment when the Moon rises, taking into account atmospheric refraction and the moon phase in primis.
Once this is done I have to look for a full Moon (at 100% - very difficult because we almost always see it practically at 98-99%) "pumped" with its coppery color emphasized by the diffusion of Raylight (vulgarly, the twilight light that passes through the gas of the Earth's atmosphere and meet the Moon).
Once I have calculated the exact moment and checked above all the weather conditions, I can understand through sites and apps where to post to insert a landscape or a subject in perspective in the shot (with the Moon in the background). In this case I was in Collemarino (20/10/21 6.30 pm - 7.30 pm).
The question now is: how did you get such a close-up view from Collemarino of the Ancona Cathedral? Simple (even if it actually isn't)! I took the photo with my telescope!
The peculiarity of the telephoto lens or telescope is to reduce the perspective effect between the various elements, so it is possible to mask or reduce the distance between various subjects within the frame.
Arrived a little early in the place studied previously, I mounted the telescope and through the adapters I inserted my reflex (you need to know, however, that the frame in the telescope is upside down, this to facilitate things, obviously I'm ironic).
The photo is the result of 2 single shots, subsequently processed, taken in the exact same position and with the same framing, one for the Moon (1/80 sec, ISO 1270) and one for San Ceriaco (5 sec, ISO 1600).
The focal length is calculated with the ratio between the length of my telescope (750mm) and its diameter (150mm), therefore f / 5.
exact on (Christian) Easter Sunday it was not sunny at all - rain came in again and cold as a winter in Cape Town ever could be not colder - but it happened here in Bulgaria...
We don't know the exact age of Ms Minnie (Minster, Minnifred, and so on). We got her in March 2006, so she's over sixteen. We think she was born around October or November the previous year, but the first veterinary doctor who examined her thought she was already a year old; we didn't believe him.
She needs regular medicine these days -- old-cat stuff. But she's still in good cheer, so we are too.
Tenderness between the two.

The exact origin of the Ranthambore fort is still disputed but it is generally accepted that there was a settlement at the site of the Fort, as far back as the 8th century A.D. It is widely believed that the construction of the Ranthambhore Fort was started during the reign of the Chauhan rajput King Sapaldaksha in 944 AD. Another theory stipulates that King Jayant, also a Chauhan rajput, built the Ranthambore Fort during 1110 AD. It is most likely that the construction of the fort commenced during the mid 10th Century A.D. and continued for a few centuries after that.
...... The ruins spread across many hectares and a lot are still perfectly intact!

Here is a copper peacock beetle (Elaphrus cupreus) I found on a sandy patch next to the Stenbäcken creek in the Tyresta National Park.
This one was unusually dark in colour. I've lightened it a bit in Photoshop to bring out some detail, but there and then it had an steely blueish black hue. Compare it to this specimen (from the exact same place) two years ago: www.flickr.com/photos/tinyturtle/52267322328/

I have the exact pose for a photo of me
Learned in books one day use to
A certain air cruel, know what you want
I have tested everything to make you win
I have a good chat and I know even dance
I can not understand, it makes no effect
My appearance will be on hand that went wrong
Things are easier in television
Keep the charm, or see someone
Nothing happens, do not know why
If I did not lose any detail
Where did I go wrong
Still find the formula of love
Still find the formula of love
Ohohoh still find the formula, the formula of love

The exact date of this visit to Peak Forest is not in my notebook and the reason for visiting the Buxton area is now long forgotten.
But the day produced a couple of memorable photographs including this view of 45074 northbound at Peak Forest.
Times they were a changing, within a week or so emigration would take place to Southern California and scenes such as this would be only possible on short return visits to the UK from time to time.
But in all those return visits none included a journey up to Peak Forest. Was it perhaps because the once familiar Class 25s hauling eighteen ICI bogie wagons loaded with limestone were long gone?
Who knows.................
As one of my favourite ships from the prequel trilogy, I really wanted to capture the sleek nature of the ship so curved slopes and tiles were the order of the day ;)

However, without any instructions for his design, I’m sure my original model wasn’t an exact copy… in any case, I’ve made numerous modifications since then and have ultimately wound up with this. Psiaki’s influence is still clear to see but I think there’s good deal of ‘me’ in there too :)
Let me know what you think and be sure to check out the other image’s descriptions for more information on the model.
Statue of Captain Luis Pardo who sailed the Yelcho and rescued Shackleton's men who lived here for 137 days. Today the place is called Point Wild after Frank Wild.
The exact origins of this church or circular temple remain a bit of a mystery. It probably dates back to the High Middle Ages and was probably built in the early 11th century. It is reminiscent of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem and is probably linked to the Crusades. It is a fairly unique example of early Romanesque architecture.
English: On the 20th of February there was organized a special ride for taking pictures by the ASVI on the 'pre-metro' network of Charleroi. Here we see tram 9148 and the recently fixed 9309 on the Rue de Bruxelles. A group of international enthousiasts in fluorescent safety vests is a normally unseen thing, so the lady in the clearly locked pink house was really suprised. Many thanks to the ASVI for making this happen!

One year ago, on this exact day, I uploaded my first picture to Flickr. I didn’t expect that one year later, i would have over 90 followers here! To all of you reading this, I want to thank you all so much for the support you all have given me over this year! I hope to keep this account strong for years to come.
Just completed a 6 day marathon of a trip consisting of 5 states and 2160.7 miles (to be exact). This was our first photo stop in Twin Falls, Idaho on the Snake River. The view was breathtaking and the access easy.
The Shoshone Falls is a waterfall on the Snake River located approximately five miles east of Twin Falls, Idaho. Sometimes called the "Niagara of the West, Shoshone Falls is 212 feet high (36 feet higher than Niagara Falls) and flows over a rim 900 feet wide.
Not sure what is the exact species of this common backyard butterfly. Some quick research suggests Pieridae family... In any case, they rarely sit still for more than a few seconds, so I was fairly happy to get the occasion to photograph one of them.
Pentax D-FA 100mm F/2.8 Macro, plus off-camera diffused Yongnuo YN-560 III flash. 1:1, plus a slight crop, so frame is about 22mm wide.

this is a composite using two different tweaks of one single exposure.
We were told about a trophy fishing lake in Manitoba, where the browns are huge. Well yes indeed they are.
We each caught the biggest brown trout for us so far but not without some drama.
No not to the fish, even though they fought like a freight train and were so strong as to launch themselves up for a hug and then self release.
No, the drama was with the weather. We arrived with some cloudy conditions and amazing fishing. So what if the clouds got fuller and darker and wetter, and downpoured for the 3 days we stayed? So what if our lakeside campsite became a lake? With the best trophy fishing we've had in a long long long time, we endured and fished. Until we couldn't. Until the heavens opened for too long and you couldn't see the lake for the storm.
Time to go, and apparently we picked the exact right time to leave, as Manitoba Floods to this area were so intense that a state of emergency was declared.
For us, with amazing fishing and trophy size, it was a state of elation.

Here's my friend Dominika ( @domijankovicova on Insta ) with her friend out enjoying an afternoon walk in the desert. Rene and I actually have the EXACT same set of matching outfits... Those photos will come soon!

I reprised the the exact same angle I did last year here, but there are a few noteworthy differences. This year's train was longer with nine cars vs eight last year and 252 joining 255 on the south/east end for assistance.
But you can't tell here in this classic view. Operating together on historic home rails are Boston and Maine F7As 4266 and 4268 on a special 470 Railroad Club charter. They are crossing Moat Brook Trestle at MP 136.19 (from North Station in Boston) on the old B&M Conway Branch, owned and operated since 1974 by the Conway Scenic Railroad after being abandoned two years prior.
Both units are owned by the 470 Railroad Club and are original Boston and Maine locomotives wearing their as delivered EMD designed scheme. 4266 was built in Mar. 1949 and was acquired for preservation in 1981 off the Billerica deadline. Restored a couple years later, she has called North Conway home ever since and has been operational off and on for the past four decades.
4268 was built in Oct. 1949 and ran for the very first time in almost a half century in early 2022. I'm not sure when her last run was, but I can find no photos of her in service after about July 1974. She languished for a decade behind the Billerica shops after being stripped of all major components including prime mover, main generator and traction motors. In 1986 she finally left Billerica by truck after being acquired by George Feuderer who displayed her in a field in East Swanzey, NH until acquired by the 470 Club and trucked to North Conway in October of 1991.
She received a cosmetic restoration in 1993 and had been prominently displayed at the Conway Scenic in the company of her operational sibling ever since. After years of planning, the club began restoration in earnest in 2018 with the full support of the railroad and its shop using ex New Hampshire Northcoast GP9 1757 (ex PRR) as a major parts donor for the four year long restoration project.
Addendum: thanks to Carl Byron for supplying the fascinating historical information below that I'd never read about before.
The 4268A was actually built in March, 1949 as Engineering Test Dept Locomotive #930. Used for high altitude component testing on the DRGW's Soldier Summit among other locations. It spent some of that summer masquerading as a CB&Q locomotive leading their passenger car display at the 1949 Chicago World's Fair. It was then was cleaned up, re-engined, and made into to a standard F7A and offered for sale at a "slightly used demo" price. The B&M bought it and it was renumbered and painted into the B&M livery and shipped east, so while the builders plate may well say 10/49 but it certainly had a prior interesting career.
