Another archive, shots taken on 22nd November 2009, during DanielKHC, Rajesh and SaiReel short visit to Malaysia. i had to crop this image because the foreground was not so interesting. plus the tedious work of lens correction to eliminate the bottom distortion produced by the wide angle lens.

Riley was born at Norwood, London, the daughter of a businessman. Her childhood was spent in Cornwall and Lincolnshire. She studied at Goldsmiths' College from 1949 to 1952, and at the Royal College of Art from 1952 to 1955. She began painting figure subjects in a semi-impressionist manner, then changed to pointillism around 1958, mainly producing landscapes. In 1960 she evolved a style in which she explored the dynamic potentialities of optical phenomena. These so-called 'Op-art' pieces, such as Fall, 1963 (Tate Gallery T00616), produce a disorienting physical effect on the eye.

Nantucket’s "Compass Rose Mural", at Washington and Main Streets, was designed by photographer and entrepreneur H. Marshall Gardiner, who, in the 1930s, commissioned Walter Ayers to paint the mural on the side of his gift shop named Gardiner’s Corner.
The compass rose has appeared on nautical charts and maps since the 1300s. The term “rose” comes from the figure’s compass points resembling the petals of the flower. Originally, it was used to indicate the directions of the winds (then known as a “wind rose”). It evolved to show cardinal directions: the main compass points of north, south, east, and west. Beyond its practical applications, the compass rose has taken on symbolic meanings in various cultures. It represents guidance, exploration, and the spirit of adventure. It’s often used decoratively in art, jewelry, apparel, and tattoos.

in Japan kyoto 祇園
Gion (祇園, ぎおん]) is a district of Kyoto, Japan, originally developed in the Middle Ages, in front of Yasaka Shrine. The district was built to accommodate the needs of travelers and visitors to the shrine. It eventually evolved to become one of the most exclusive and well-known geisha districts in all of Japan.

The geisha in the Gion district (and Kyoto generally) does not refer to themselves as geisha; instead, Gion geisha use the local term geiko. While the term geisha means "artist" or "person of the arts", the more direct term geiko means essentially "a child of the arts" or "a woman of art".
This neighborhood in Kyoto has two hanamachi (geiko communities): Gion Kōbu (祇園甲部) and Gion Higashi (祇園東), which split many years ago; Kōbu is larger, occupying most of the district, while Higashi is smaller and occupies the northeast corner, centered around its rehearsal hall. Despite the considerable decline in the number of geisha in Gion in the last one hundred years, it is still famous for the preservation of forms of traditional architecture and entertainment.

Part of this district has been declared a national historical preservation district. Recently, the City of Kyoto completed a project to restore the streets of Gion, which included such plans as moving all overhead utilities underground as part of the ongoing effort to preserve the original beauty of Gion.

The 6 fusial thrusters provide much-needed redundancy in battle: thrust vectoring is maintained even in the face of a disabled thruster, and straight-line thrust remains available even if any two thrusters are taken out.
The primary airfoil supports stackable armored weapon pods; mount half a dozen lightweight weapons, or a few heavy ones, depending on mission and preference. (Structural limitations may apply.) The S-foil weapon pods are not stackable, but are similarly armored.
The cab-forward see-around cockpit and droid slot are combined into an escape pod with eight thrusters, itself mounted on the Gyro-stabilizer you know and love!

The New York Susquehanna & Western Railway's motive power situation,whether leased or recently acquired, has sparked a lot of interest as of late. Daylight runs of their normally nocturnal SU-99 and SU-100 trains always add a bit more interest to the mix. Here is westbound SU-99 on ex Lehigh and Hudson River railway rails at Craigville NY on 05-25-2023. The train will diverge off of ex L&HR rails onto the ex Erie Graham Line at Hudson Junction in Hamptonburgh NY for its run to Port Jervis and up the Southern Tier to Binghamton NY. Who doesn´t know this game? Awesome, one word, awesome. Sadly I just own the demo verion ( shame on me ) but I will buy the full version for PC soon. And for all who will say: "Eh, too old!", well, I doesn´t have an xBox. ;)
