This minimalistic series exemplifies the "evolution" and the "devolution" of global world. As the photos progress, the focus of the unchanged frame slowly shifts from the front to the back. In this progression, the significance of 9/11 8:46am (clock pointers at the front) in 2001 always stays in people's heart as a warning and an unforgettable history. As this tragic accident gradually became the past, the generation stepped into a world with more advanced technology and incredible social network. For example: Facebook (facebook icon at the back). Millions and millions can access news, information in a split second with one scroll. This also gives people a chance to raise awareness of terrorist attacks more quickly (the 2015 Paris attacks). The different forms of chaos at the beginnings and the end symbolize the lesson human have learned over years with the help of modern tech and the new perspective they've gained in the "new" chaos. As a result, the focus is once again back to the clock pointers.
This paper model is Halcyon Shuttle, inspired by the game Jumpgate Evolution, the papercraft is created by Jimmy Crackskull.

After a brief: Following the different materials in order to create an installation. However, don't come up with an idea, make the project evolve gradually.
Final step was creating a final model and find a purpose and a location.
I created this model which is supposed to be on suspension over a public area.
Thanks to pieces of transparent and reflective materials it creates shapes on the floor and a shield for people to protect them against rain or sun. By protecting themselves they are creating shapes on the floor. (Inspiration by Francis Alys).
Model made in foam board, transparent green plastic sheet and reflective gold plastic sheet.
Evolution - Let there be Light. Licht, veel licht was er zeker! Wat een mooie licht- en lasershow. Dat maakt het werk voor partyfotografen leuk en uitdagend :) Behalve mooi licht, werd er ook nog eens top gedraaid. Held van de avond voor mij was toch zeker wel Markus Schulz. Het was voor mij wel even wennen de weg die Tiesto in slaat. Je kunt het mooi vinden of niet, hij blijft zichzelf vernieuwen. Dat was aan de set bij Evolution ook goed te horen. En dat is zeker knap als je al zolang meegaat als Tijs. Al met al een topweekend, met eerst Reloaded..... Dance into the Future en daarna Evolution - Let there be Light. Thx. Radio 538 voor de uitstekende organisatie. Hopelijk krijgt dit initiatief een vervolg volgend jaar.
